According to a report by the Global Times, citing the British "Reuters" news agency, a source revealed that the US Navy and Taiwan's "Navy" secretly held a "joint military exercise" in the western Pacific last month. Due to the mainland's reaction, both the United States and Taiwan chose to remain silent about the exercise. As soon as the report came out, neither the US side nor the island responded positively, and Taiwan's "navy" only said that it "will often make contact with ships of other countries and conduct exercises as needed," but did not directly admit the specific circumstances of the exercise.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin issued a rare warning about this, saying that the DPP's "Taiwan independence" act is "a dead end, doomed to failure, and there will be no accidents."

It is very rare for a spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to utter such a level of heavy remarks, and his attitude towards the forces on the island has been very clear.
In particular, in this election on the island, the new leadership group is about to take office, and the "Taiwan independence forces" on the island can be described as unprecedentedly conspicuous. The United States has also repeatedly engaged in friction on the island, and the deployment of US special forces to Penghu and Kinmen has not yet given China a reasonable explanation, and now it has been exposed that it is conducting joint military exercises with Taiwan's "navy."
The greatest harm of this kind of behavior is to give Taiwan independence elements a wrong understanding that the United States will "come forward" at a critical moment, thus strengthening the self-confidence of Taiwan independence elements in "going all the way to the black."

According to reports, the "exercise" lasted several days, and the two sides dispatched a variety of different types of ships, including frigates, supply ships, and support ships, to train in maritime communications and supply services.
If these circumstances are true, then the US Navy did not send any combat ships to participate in the exercise, because only the frigates are combat ships among the above-mentioned ships participating in the exercise, and the US military has already retired all the frigates, and the only frigates that can participate in the exercise are those "Chenggong-class" or "Kangding-class" frigates of the Taiwan "Navy."

Judging from the content and details of the exercise exposed, there do not seem to be any highlights in the exercise between the two sides this time, and it is more like the two sides temporarily organized some exercise subjects after meeting at sea. In the case of maritime communications, in particular, most of these exercises are decided on an ad hoc basis after the two sides meet by chance at sea.

However, regardless of the content of the exercise, even if the US Navy and Taiwan's "Navy" ships meet at sea and conduct the exercise, it will already be a serious provocation to Chinese mainland.
China opposes all military contacts between the United States and the island, but the United States is trying to use this form of "playing the side ball" to keep in touch with the forces on the island to cheer them up. This kind of "petty theft" action wants to interfere in the process of reunification of the mainland, and our side naturally has to pay close attention to it. Although such actions will not bring about substantial changes in the situation in the Taiwan Strait, they still cannot be condoned by both sides.
