On the evening of April 29, Kweichow Moutai announced that according to the relevant documents of the Guizhou Provincial People's Government, Zhang Deqin was recommended as the company's director and chairman of the board, and Ding Xiongjun was recommended to no longer serve as the company's chairman and director.

Zhang Deqin was born in September 1972, a native of Renhuai, Guizhou, and graduated from the Department of Light Industry of Guizhou Institute of Technology in July 1995, majoring in fermentation engineering.
From July 1995 to April 2004, Zhang Deqin successively served as a technician, secretary of the Youth League branch, deputy director and director of the second liquor making workshop of Kweichow Moutai.
Since April 2004, Zhang Deqin has been appointed as the assistant general manager of Kweichow Moutai.
In May 2010, Zhang Deqin was appointed as the assistant to the general manager of Kweichow Moutai Distillery Co., Ltd., and the deputy secretary of the Party Committee, chairman and general manager of Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Xijiu Co., Ltd.
From December 2011 to April 2024, Zhang Deqin successively worked in Kweichow Moutai and its affiliates, during which she also served as the deputy general manager of Poly Group Poly Technology Co., Ltd.
At the helm of the wine, the results are remarkable
Looking back on Zhang Deqin's career, most of the time he worked in Kweichow Moutai and its affiliates, but part of the time he was transferred to Xijiu.
From May 2010 to December 2011, Zhang Deqin concurrently served as the deputy secretary of the Party Committee, chairman and general manager of Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Xijiu Co., Ltd.;
From December 2011 to August 2018, Zhang Deqin served as Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Xijiu Co., Ltd.;
From July 2022 to April 2024, Zhang Deqin served as Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Guizhou Xijiu Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd.
After Zhang Deqin took the helm of Xijiu, the production capacity of Xijiu began to expand at an accelerated pace, starting from a base of more than 7,000 tons to 20,000 tons in 2016. In May 2018, Xijiu started the construction of 19,000 tons of soy sauce wine and supporting projects, which have been completed and put into use one after another. From 2010 to 2018, the sales of Xijiu increased from 1 billion yuan to 5.6 billion yuan.
In September 2023, the China Liquor Circulation Association released the "15th China Liquor Brand Value 200 Research Report of Huazhun Cup", and the brand value of Guizhou Xijiu reached a new high, ranking among the top eight liquor in China, the second in China's soy sauce liquor, and the second in Guizhou liquor with 222.463 billion yuan.
Now, Zhang Deqin faces the achievements created by his predecessor under the leadership of Kweichow Moutai, and needs to prove himself again after taking the helm of Kweichow Moutai.
In the first quarter of 2024, Kweichow Moutai achieved operating income of 45.776 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.11%, and net profit attributable to the parent company of 24.065 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.73%. As of the close of trading on April 29, 2024, Kweichow Moutai has a total market capitalization of 2.14 trillion yuan.

Previously, Zhang Deqin told Xijiu distributors many times that Xijiu and dealers are connected by blood, share common interests, and have the same goal. Xijiu respects dealers from the bottom of his heart, and is willing to work with dealers to help each other and move towards the "next decade" together in the big waves and sands.
