Intel and AMD have been competing in the CPU market for many years, and according to the South Korean website Danawa, as of March this year, AMD's share of the Korean DIY market has been ahead of Intel for four consecutive months, with the largest gap between the two sides reaching 13%. In terms of products specifically, the AMD Ryzen5 5600 was the most popular in South Korea, accounting for 11.8% of total CPU sales in South Korea in March.

As can be seen from the chart given by Danawa, before October 2023, Intel's share of the Korean DIY market was significantly ahead of AMD, with the largest gap of 16.8% in August, but after October, AMD began to overtake Intel and continued to lead after December.

As for specific products, the top three CPUs in sales in August 2023 are i5-13400F, i5-12400F and R5 7600, and the combined share of the first two has reached 30%, which is R5 7600 accounted for 6.6 times the share, but by March this year, the top three sales have all become AMD's Ryzen series CPUs, and even the fifth place is still the Ryzen series, Intel's i7-14700K and i5-14400F can only rank 6 and 7 respectively, and the combined share of the two accounts for less than 10%, which is very different from the situation in August 23.

Danawa also counts the average selling price of the R5 5600, R5 5600X, R5 7500F, and R5 7600. The average selling price of the R5 5600, which accounts for the highest proportion of sales, was about 150,000 won (about 789 yuan) in March, while its next-generation R5 7600 was about 250,000 won (about 1,315 yuan), down 50,000 won (about 263 yuan) from 300,000 won at the time of the launch. Thanks to the drop in price, the R5 7600 also recorded its highest sales since its debut.

According to related news, the recent instability of the 13th generation and 14th generation core games has also affected the reputation and sales of Intel CPUs in the consumer market to a certain extent, and the same is true for the South Korean market. This may be one of the important reasons why Korean users are more inclined to choose AMD CPUs.
