@数码闲聊站日前曝料, MediaTek will launch a new generation of flagship mobile platform Dimensity 9400 later this year, which will use Arm's latest CPU architecture, codenamed "BlackHawk" (Black Hawk), which is already in internal testing and is progressing very well. The "BlackHawk" architecture is positioned as a flagship and is still a super-large core, and it is expected to be officially named Cortex-X5.

According to internal verification, the IPC (instructions per clock cycle) of the Arm Cortex-X5 outperforms Apple's latest A17 Pro, and is far ahead of Qualcomm's own nuvia. IPC performance refers to the intuitive data of performance improvement for every 1GHz increase, which can be understood as the higher the IPC and the stronger the performance at the same CPU frequency.

The Dimensity 9400 will use TSMC N3E, the second-generation 3nm manufacturing process, which is MediaTek's first 3nm mobile phone chip. The CPU part is still an all-large core design scheme, including one X5 super large core, three X4 large cores, and four A720 small cores.

Today, the blogger brought the first score of the Dimensity 9400 engineering sample, with a single-core score of 1606 and a multi-core score of 5061. It is reported that the Dimensity 9400 chip is still vivo's first launch, and according to convention, it should be the vivo X200 series, which is expected to be released in October.
