According to a number of Thai media sources, at 17:10 pm on April 29, during the official visit of the Brunei royal family to Thailand, the 10th King of Thailand, King Maha Vajiralongkorn, and Queen Suthida met with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and Prince Abdul Martin of Brunei at Bangkok's Lisit Palace, accompanied by Thai Prime Minister Saita.
On the same day, the 10th King and Queen Suthida personally greeted the Sultan of Brunei and the Prince of Brunei outside the palace, and then entered the palace for talks.
It is reported that King Maha Vajiralongkorn went to Brunei to attend the coronation ceremony of the 29th Sultan of Brunei on behalf of His Ninth King Bhumibol Adulyadej on October 4-6, 1992. The Sultan of Brunei also visited Thailand as a guest of the Thai royal family and visited His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.
Thailand and Brunei officially established diplomatic relations on January 1, 1984, and this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
On the same day, the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs updated the news synchronously, after the meeting with the King and Queen of Thailand, on the evening of April 29, the Sultan of Brunei, Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, and the Prince of Brunei, Abdul Martin, ended their trip to Thailand, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Philapan and his entourage sent off on behalf of the Thai government.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand mentioned that the official visit of the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam to Thailand has greatly strengthened the bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Brunei in various fields such as economy, trade, investment, food security and halal cooperation, tourism cooperation, and people-to-people relations.
