Couplets, a treasure of traditional culture, were originally based on peach wood, so they are also called peach symbols. On the peach wood, people carefully depict the images of the two gods, Shen Tu and Yu Lei, and place their good wishes on the evil spirits. Kind-hearted people hung peach charms on both sides of the gate, hoping for peace and good luck. Over time, people began to engrave words on the peach symbols, and these peach symbols with handwriting gradually evolved into couplets.

The earliest couplet on the mainland was born in the Three Kingdoms period, when the couplet was still immature, and it was mostly made up of a few simple words. However, in the Tang and Song dynasties, the couplet culture began to truly shine in the public's cultural vision like a bright pearl. During the Tang and Song dynasties, literati and writers often used poetry as a pleasure. For example, the famous sentence in "Climbing the Stork's Tower" by the great poet Wang Zhilian of the Tang Dynasty: "If you want to be poor for a thousand miles, go to the next level", this is a far-reaching couplet in itself, but it is cleverly integrated into the poem. This poem not only expresses a positive attitude towards life, but also has become a popular classic.

While later generations appreciate this poem, they can't help but have a strong interest in this couplet. They spread the wings of their imagination and tried to make changes to the couplet. Some people changed "I want to be poor and go to the next level" to "I have been poor so far, why do I need to go to the next level". This changed couplet is also full of charm and makes people savor it.

Creating couplets requires not only technical proficiency, but also quick thinking. There are many types of couplets, such as double word couplets, homophonic couplets, digital couplets, etc., each of which has its own unique charm. The ancients often used couplets to test a person's talents, especially in the academy, teachers often tested students' talents in this way, and in the imperial examination room, the examiner would also judge the students' level through couplets.

Dai Shulun, a famous pastoral poet in the Tang Dynasty, was not only good at writing poetry, but also proficient in couplets. His poems advocate that "the scenery of a poet, like the warm sun in the blue field, and the smoke of good jade, can be expected but cannot be placed in front of the imminent", showing his unique aesthetic pursuit. Dai Shulun's poems have a wide range of genres, including five words and seven words, five rules and seven rules, and ancient and close styles, etc., and most of them express the feelings of seclusion and leisure and elegance. His couplets are even more unique, reflecting both profound literary skills and superb artistic attainments.

During his childhood, he showed extraordinary intelligence and talent for exporting, and was deeply loved by Mr. Teach. Once, the teacher and student walked in the suburbs, and the two place names of Baidian and Huangcun came into view. In Baidian, a majestic white rooster crows loudly, and the teacher has a flash of inspiration and improvises a couplet: "Baidian white rooster cries during the day". This couplet skillfully uses the technique of heavy words, and the word "white" appears three times, depicting not only the place, but also the animals and time, forming a vivid picture.

When Dai Shulun heard the teacher's uplink, he couldn't help but wonder in his heart. At this moment, there was a dog barking from the Yellow Village in the distance, and a big yellow dog jumped in front of him and barked wildly. At this moment, Dai Shulun's inspiration flashed, and he blurted out: "The yellow dog in Huangcun barks at dusk." This sentence is a reflection of the lower couplet and the upper couplet, with "yellow" to "white", "dog" to "chicken", "village" to "shop", the battle is neat, and the same heavy word technique is used, the word "yellow" appears three times, and "day" and "dusk" form a clever time contrast, which is amazing.

When the teacher heard Dai Shulun's next link, he was full of praise and had high hopes for this talented disciple. This couplet between teachers and students has been recorded in history and has become a good story that has been passed down through the ages. Tai Shulun's ingenuity and keen insight are fully reflected in this impromptu couplet, showing his outstanding literary talent.
