On April 29, 2024, China First Heavy Industry organized a seminar on the extreme manufacturing technology of major petrochemical technical equipment and the mass delivery ceremony of the world's largest 3,000-ton forging and welding reactor at the Dalian Nuclear Power and Petrochemical Base. The last three of the 12 world's largest 3,000-ton slurry bed forging and welding hydrogenation reactors designed by China First Heavy Contractor and Sinopec Engineering Construction Co., Ltd. were all completed and delivered, marking that the manufacturing capacity of heavy petrochemical technology and equipment in mainland China has steadily stood on the "3,000 tons" level, and has the batch, specialization and process production capacity of similar equipment, successfully refreshing the world's extreme manufacturing record, and further demonstrating the technological innovation ability and super engineering creation strength of China First Heavy as a "big country".
China's heavy-duty petrochemical reactor, the world's largest 3,000-ton forging and welding hydrogenation reactor, is an irreplaceable core equipment in the petroleum refining industry, especially the heavy-duty forging and welding structure hydrogenation reactor needs to work under harsh conditions such as high temperature, high pressure and hydrogen for a long time. Because of its high technical content and difficult development, in the early 80s of the 20th century, the mainland did not have the ability to independently design and manufacture hot-wall hydrogenation reactors, and completely relied on imports and was controlled by others for a long time. In 2018, China First Heavy Industry contracted the manufacturing contract for the first time for a 3,000-ton super slurry bed forged and welded hydrogenation reactor. Since then, the manufacturing of 12 sets of 3,000-ton slurry bed forging and welding reactors has been completed with high quality. The 3,000-ton super slurry bed hydrogenation reactor equipment has a diameter of 5.6 meters, a length of more than 70 meters, and a single weight of 3,037 tons.
