In the summer of 2023, after Liu Sha became pregnant, she came to Hunan Guangxiu Hospital, which is closer to home, for prenatal checkup. The patient consultation and professional guidance of Luo Lianzhen, the director of the obstetrics department, and Dr. Liu Hui left her with the impression of "very relieved".
She said that she had also been to other hospitals during the period, but after comparison, she still chose Hunan Guangxiu Hospital because it was clean and comfortable, and the medical staff made her feel "at home".

In a blink of an eye, in March 2024, Liu Sha found that "occasionally clear liquid" flowed out, worried that it was amniotic fluid, and happened to meet Director Luo Lianzhen again during the examination at Hunan Guangxiu Hospital.
"Director Luo is already familiar with my situation and has been paying attention to me. After inspection, it was confirmed that Liu Sha did break the water, and immediately went through the hospitalization procedures. In the follow-up examination, Liu Sha was found to have a very bad cervical condition, and the gestational week had just reached 37 weeks, if she could not give birth in a short time, the risk of intrauterine infection was very high, and the consequences may be very serious.
The baby was just full-term and was about to give birth, Liu Sha was caught off guard, and nervous and scared emotions hit. She was told that once she had an intrauterine infection, she should be ready for a cesarean section at any time, which made her entangled, who had always been determined to have a smooth birth. Director Luo Lianzhen learned about these psychological changes, not only fully understood, but also formulated two sets of plans for her: natural delivery and cesarean section.
After a full assessment, the obstetric team decided to give Liu Sha a vaginal trial labor, because her cervical condition was not good, and oxytocin was used to promote cervical ripening, but the contractions have been irregular, and there is no movement at the uterine opening.
Liu Sha felt that those days were "the most difficult time". She was fortunate to have met a midwife, He Wanliang. He Wanliang has more than 30 years of midwifery experience, and has delivered more than 30,000 babies.
Once, because her husband was late in delivering food, Liu Sha was hungry, and He Wanliang also shared the porridge he brought with her.
Finally, with Liu Sha's persistence and the efforts of medical staff, she gave birth to a 3.05-kilogram baby, and the mother and baby were safe. She recalled that during the delivery process, Director Luo always encouraged her, He Wanliang held her hand tightly beside her, and the anesthesiologist's technique and comfort made her "not feel pain at all".

After Liu Sha returned to the ward, the medical staff took turns to ask about the situation, do examinations and nursing, and repeatedly explain the precautions. She was sometimes too weak to speak, but the warmth in her heart was palpable.
On April 27, Liu Sha's family of three returned to Hunan Guangxiu Hospital. She specially brought a pennant and a letter of praise to thank all the medical staff in the obstetrics department.

Up to now, the youngest baby born in obstetrics is 26+ weeks, the lightest newborn weighs 775 grams, the oldest pregnant woman is 52 years old, the success rate of critical maternal rescue (including placental abruption, postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia, uterine rupture, etc.) is 100%, the success rate of preterm premature rupture of membranes is 71.43%, and the success rate of cervical insufficiency is 91.67%.
