The Grand Canal is the longest man-made canal in the world and is a valuable cultural heritage. General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to and cares about the protection, inheritance and utilization of the Grand Canal culture, and clearly emphasizes that "the Grand Canal culture is an important part of China's excellent traditional culture, and efforts should be made to protect, inherit and utilize it, so that the ancient Grand Canal can glow with a new style of the times". It is of great theoretical value and practical significance to incorporate the cultural protection, inheritance and utilization of the Grand Canal into the academic framework of humanities and economy, to examine the value of the Grand Canal in the era with a new mission in the new era, and to promote the Grand Canal to rejuvenate the new style of the times. We must correctly grasp the dialectical relationship between protection, inheritance and utilization, closely combine the spiritual and cultural needs of the people, deeply explore the spiritual connotation and value of the times of the Grand Canal culture, and constantly innovate ways and means to protect, inherit and utilize, so that the Grand Canal culture will shine brightly in the new era.
The first is to open up a new realm of theoretical research. Marxism is a powerful ideological weapon for us to understand the world, grasp the laws, pursue truth, and transform the world. The Grand Canal is the crystallization of the wisdom of the ancient working people, and the culture of the Grand Canal is an important part of China's excellent traditional culture. The people are the direct builders of the physical space of the Grand Canal, the creators of the cultural and spiritual level, and the writers of the historical context. It is necessary to persistently integrate the basic tenets of Marxism with China's specific reality and with China's excellent traditional culture, deepen the systematic study of the Grand Canal, and point out the direction and provide methods for comprehensively dialectically and objectively understanding, studying, and transforming the Grand Canal.
The second is to polish the new business card of the golden waterway. Re-understand and reposition the value function of the golden waterway of the Grand Canal, rely on the inland river transportation function, take the wharf, port and other infrastructure along the route as the starting point, take the key towns along the route as the core, and combine the overall layout of new urbanization to build a new platform for high-quality development with multi-level, wide field and wide coverage. We will build a multi-industry integration belt, vigorously promote the integration of urban and rural areas, primary, secondary and tertiary industries, and online and offline integration, and form a comprehensive industrial growth pole based on port transportation and logistics, with efficient ecological agriculture, modern service industry, cultural and creative industry, and high-end manufacturing as the main body. We will build a belt for the upgrading of traditional industries, actively guide the development of cultural creativity, low-carbon tourism, digital technology and other emerging industries, and carefully polish the new business card of the Grand Canal's golden waterway with smooth and developed public services and healthy and prosperous humanities and economy.
The third is to improve the new energy level of green shipping. With a total length of about 3,200 kilometers, the Grand Canal is an open and complex system that organically connects the left and right banks, and connects the upstream and downstream. It is necessary to highlight the "big" characteristics of the Grand Canal, strengthen the study of the specific characteristics and common laws of the Grand Canal ecosystem, strengthen the "transportation" essence of the Grand Canal, always pay attention to the mobility characteristics of the Grand Canal as a living world cultural heritage, and do a good job with small incisions; build the "river" system of the Grand Canal, study the shipping foundation of different river sections according to the actual navigation conditions along the Grand Canal, make overall plans to find the balance between long-term planning and short-term goals, and closely follow the ecological foundation. Economic energy enhancement is the main development vein, effectively improve the new energy level of green shipping, and create a green and environmentally friendly ecological water transportation system.
Fourth, stimulate new vitality of the humanistic economy. The Grand Canal embodies the long history, splendid culture and great spirit of the Chinese nation, is a historical witness of the prosperity of the Chinese nation, and is also a magnificent poem written on the land of China. The cities along the Grand Canal were born and prospered with the canal, giving birth to rich valuable cultural resources such as Cao Yun culture, commercial culture, local culture, custom culture, and ecological culture. Deeply excavate the historical and cultural resources with the Grand Canal as the core, inherit and innovate the cultural connotation of the Grand Canal, vigorously develop cultural and creative industries, and build it into a world-class cultural exchange and dissemination platform with a thousand-year-old history. Promote the integration of culture, science and technology, and industry, vigorously develop digital culture, film and television animation, cultural performing arts, artistic creation, creative design, cultural equipment and other industries, and support the deep integration of culture and finance, science and technology, and the Internet. Promote the agglomeration of diversified business formats, accelerate the active protection, inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage, give full play to the advantages of historical classic industries such as silk, rice wine, tea, and lake pens along the Grand Canal, and the agglomeration advantages of fashion industries such as clothing, leather, and furniture, and build a cultural and creative characteristic industry agglomeration area with characteristic towns, cultural industry parks, and historical and cultural blocks as the main support, and cultural inheritance, fashion design, and product manufacturing capabilities. Carry forward the brand value of innovative culture, focus on building the brand of festivals and events such as the Grand Canal Temple Fair and the Grand Canal Marathon, and improve the overall cultural recognition of the Grand Canal.
Fifth, explore a new path for the integration of culture and tourism. We will further promote the promotion of tourism with culture and the parallel development of culture and culture with tourism, and excavate and condense classic cases of in-depth integration of culture and tourism of the Grand Canal, which can be demonstrated and promoted across the line. Vigorously improve the infrastructure and service facilities of the Grand Canal, build a number of international greenways of the Grand Canal World Heritage that integrate sightseeing, leisure, fitness, recreation and other functions, and lay out a number of public cultural venues, urban green parks, rural research bases, and digital smart platforms with distinctive local characteristics that can highlight the regional culture of the Grand Canal. Study the characteristics of the linear corridor of the Grand Canal, strengthen the cross-regional integration of the cultural tourism resources and corridors of the Grand Canal, and develop the high-quality canal tourism routes and golden waterway cultural tourism routes such as the Caoyun Road, the Poetry and Painting Road, the Ancient Town Road, and the Quyi Road. Research and development of new products, based on the world cultural heritage of the Grand Canal, the development of cultural research, cultural performance, sports and leisure, leisure agriculture, rural tourism and other cultural tourism products of the Grand Canal. Drawing on the successful experience of immersive interactive platforms at home and abroad, relying on China's new infrastructure construction and the development of the global digital economy, we will integrate resources and leverage our efforts to jointly build a digital interactive experience platform.
Sixth, create a new highland for the development of the times. Actively develop emerging industries and green industries, build innovation-leading demonstration zones, and promote the formation of a new situation of common development of emerging industries, green industries and traditional industries. Cultivate new momentum, promote the deep integration of the Internet, big data, artificial intelligence and the real economy, and form new growth points. Develop new clusters, promote the gradual transformation of economic development along the Grand Canal from factor-driven and investment-driven to innovation-driven, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of existing traditional industries, continuously increase the proportion of productive and living services, actively guide the orderly transfer of industries, and cultivate and form industrial clusters with extensive market competitiveness. Create a new demonstration, seize the opportunity of the ecological governance of the Grand Canal, develop a green, low-carbon circular economy, such as pollution control, ecological agriculture, green shipping and green tourism, and build the areas along the Grand Canal into ecological economic demonstration zones and green development demonstration zones.
