In order to enrich the campus culture and further stimulate the interest in learning English, under the organization of the English group, on the evening of April 29, Zhou Concentrated School held the 2024 Spring Semester English Speech Competition. The competition was presided over by Mr. Zhang Guoli.
Vice President Qiao Qiao attended and delivered a speech. Qiao Qiao expressed his affirmation and gratitude to the teachers of the English group for the careful planning and organization of the competition, encouraged and praised the students' active participation, and hoped that the students could take this event as an opportunity to feel English, apply English, and experience the fun of learning English in a relaxed and happy activity.
In the competition, the contestants were full of confidence, proficient in oral language, dignified in posture, and generous. They express their opinions in fluent English, showing solid English skills and self-confidence. The theme of the speech revolves around the pursuit of dreams, healthy growth, science and technology culture, campus life and other topics, expressing the passion for struggle and depicting a beautiful blueprint, which is very infectious. The passionate speeches of the contestants won bursts of applause from the audience, and also aroused thinking and resonance.
The judges made a comprehensive evaluation according to the contestants' voice intonation, language expression, speech content and demeanor, and finally selected 5 first prizes, 6 second prizes, and 9 third prizes. The judges spoke highly of the performance of the contestants and hoped that they would be able to apply what they had learned in real life and continuously improve their English skills.
This speech contest provided an opportunity for students to think and show, stimulated the desire to think and express, improved the core literacy of the subject, and also demonstrated the sunny and confident demeanor of Zhou Middle School students. (Zhou Tianbao)
