A recent video was commented on a lot. A female teacher expressed her emotions in class without reservation, loudly denouncing the notion that "US imperialism is selfless and immortal". The students in the classroom listened with expressionless faces, her tone excited, and her voice echoed through the empty classroom.
The picture is all in plain sight: a passionate female teacher, her eyes full of determination to defeat imperialism, she points to the blackboard with emotion, as if she can see that those scheming foreign powers are plotting something, right before her eyes.
Strangely enough, there were piles of attentive listeners all over the place. They looked respectfully at the ear-to-ear face, and a reverberating force rose up and filled the room. Some of them began to chew on her remarks and silently joined the protest. A hot-blooded young man follows this passionate beautiful teacher to a passionate and rebellious future.
Some might say that this rebellious atmosphere is not something to be proud of. It seems to be a ray of light, but it is actually enough to degenerate people. In the midst of fanatical protests, sooner or later we will lose our minds and our innocence. I couldn't help but frown, and I couldn't help but look puzzled.
Are these the patriotic education that we are passionate about? Is this the so-called "patriotic spirit" that we want to instill in the next generation? Is this the embodiment of our loyalty, our value orientation, and the heroic spirit that we have passed down from generation to generation?
I'm sure this is not the patriotism I've been taught since I was a child. I am saddened by this extreme, hateful rhetoric, this biased slogan, this ideological indoctrination.
The purpose of education is to guide us to love the country, but not to teach us to hate. Love is based on understanding, respect, and tolerance. This kind of love is real, this kind of love can inspire us, and this kind of love can make us cherish and protect our land from the bottom of our hearts.
Of course, I understand that at this point in time, some people may carry out some extreme acts in the name of "patriotism." But, I would say, that is just their personal behavior and has nothing to do with patriotism.
Every Chinese loves our motherland, and our love does not need words, because it is integrated into the heart. But that doesn't mean we hate what or who we hate. Love and hate are two completely different things. Hopefully we'll all understand that.
Of course, we have to admit that the world is not perfect. Not just the United States, but all countries have their own interests. But that doesn't mean we can speak ill of them.
In other words, we should approach them with a peaceful, rational attitude, not full of hatred and irrationality. I hope that our younger generation will be able to face the world with this attitude.
So, we have to rethink and examine the way we educate. We cannot allow this hate-filled thinking to run rampant, and we need to teach the next generation to think independently and critically, rather than blindly accepting "dogma".
As the concentration camp survivor put it: "The purpose of education is to develop man into a genuine human being with a sound personality and independent thinking." ”
We cannot allow children to grow up in an education full of hatred. What we need is a sane, independent, human offspring. Such descendants will be able to resist all evil attempts to erode our spiritual world. Only then can there be real hope for our country.
