author:China's drug control

April is the time when spring flowers are in full bloom, but if there is a flower, it cannot be "splendid" casually, that is, the opium poppy! The mainland law clearly stipulates that it is forbidden to grow opium poppy and other narcotic plants without permission...... On April 19, the anti-drug squad of Longkou Town, Honghu City, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, found through drone inspections that a large number of opium poppies were planted in the backyard of a resident's house in Huayan Village, Longkou Town, and they had blossomed and borne fruit, and the police immediately eradicated them on the spot

A total of 1,300 plants were counted

Upon inquiry, Ye Mou, the owner of the vegetable garden, likes to plant flowers and plants for ornamentation

According to him, out of curiosity, he picked up two poppies with a diameter of 4-5 cm from other people's vegetable fields last year, peeled them off, took out the white round seeds, and planted them in his own field, hoping to "see the beauty" after they bloom
