The Chihuang high-speed railway is located in the mountainous area of southern Anhui, starting from Chizhou Station, passing through Guichi District, Qingyang County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province, Huangshan District, Yixian County, Huangshan City, and connecting to Yixian East Railway Station, with a total length of 125 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The mountains and valleys along the Chihuang high-speed railway are high, the valleys are vertical and horizontal, the terrain and landform are complex, and the construction is difficult. Since the start of construction in December 2019, China Railway Group has organized all participating units to promote the construction of the project with high quality and efficiency, and has completed 55 bridges such as the Taiping Lake Bridge and Yunshan Bridge, and 34 tunnels such as the Lingshang Village Tunnel.

According to Wu Guigang, the project leader of the 11th Bureau of China Railway, who is responsible for the construction of the Yunshan Bridge, the Yunshan Bridge is about 2.7 kilometers long, and the main span of 144 meters is used to cross the G318 National Highway, which is the largest span tied arch bridge on the whole line of the Chihuang High-speed Railway. During the construction, the construction personnel applied BIM technology to simulate the construction, continuously optimized and refined the construction plan, and successively adopted more than 10 advanced construction technologies to ensure that the bridge was completed on schedule.

Guo Lingjun, a senior engineer of the transportation department of China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group, said that the Chihuang high-speed railway operates at a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour. On the first day of operation, the Chihuang high-speed railway plans to run 25 EMU trains, which can directly reach Hefei, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Anqing, Huangshan, Wuhu, Tongling, Suzhou, Wuxi, Jiaxing and other cities from Jiuhuashan Station. At the beginning of operation, the railway department arranged to run up to 24 locomotive trains per day. The fastest between Jiuhuashan Station and Hefei South, Nanjing South, Hangzhou West, Wuhan and Shanghai Hongqiao Station is 1 hour 37 minutes, 1 hour 46 minutes, 2 hours 9 minutes, 2 hours 24 minutes and 3 hours 46 minutes respectively.

The Chihuang high-speed railway is connected with the Nanjing-Anqing high-speed railway at Chizhou Station, and the Hangzhou-Nanchang high-speed railway is connected at Yixian East Railway Station, connecting a number of national famous tourist attractions such as Jiuhua Mountain and Huangshan Scenic Area, which will further improve the regional road network structure, facilitate the travel of the people along the line, promote the development of tourism resources and industrial development, and is of great significance to help the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
