What kind of flower is Qionghua? Seven Songs of Qionghua in Late Spring: If it is the same as the Eight Immortals, why does Jiurui have incense?

In late spring, hydrangeas and hydrangeas and hydrangeas are in full bloom.

Speaking of hydrangeas, they were planted in the Tang Dynasty. In the Zhongtang Dynasty, Yuanzhi was in the Jingzhou Bureau, and he had seen the blooming wood hydrangea. I once said that hydrangeas bloom and snowballs are more beautiful than the so-called hydrangeas. If Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty went to Yangzhou, I believe that what he saw was the late spring wood hydrangea that was bred by Yangzhou's abundant earth, which was really full of spring snow, occupying the field of vision and moving the mood.

Then Qionghua in the Tang Dynasty is not much in the record, but in the early years of the Song Dynasty, when Wang Yuyan was the prefect of Yangzhou, he saw the Houtu Temple here, "there is a flower branch, white and lovely, and its tree is big and multiply, I don't know what the tree is, commonly known as Qionghua Cloud." Because of the poem, it is in its state. He was an outsider, came here to be an official, and saw that there was a huge flower tree here, which bloomed in late spring, the tree was large and multiply, and the flower color was white, and the local people called it Qionghua. It is assumed that this is at least a decades-old tree, and the locals have called it Qionghua.

"Spring ice is thin and pressed branches, and it is Yue'e to divide and fragrance.

Suddenly, it seems to be at the bottom of the deep stream on a summer day, and the old pine is snow-white. Wang Yuyan "Houtu Temple Qionghua Poem"

It is said that the flowers of this flower bloom like the snow and ice covering the suppressed branches in spring, and it is particularly fragrant.

Seeing such flowers and trees, it is as if walking by the valley spring on a hot day, and seeing an old pine, which is covered with layers of snow, giving people a sense of seclusion and coolness.

It can be known that the branches of this tree are luxuriant, the diameter of the canopy is large, which creates a shade that covers the sky and the sun, and the flowers have a special crisp fragrance.

Wang Yuyan thought it was strange and liked it very much, because the Houtu Temple was dedicated to the god of the land, and the officials of the Tang and Song dynasties had many conforms to the folk customs, and sacrificed the Houtu Temple in late spring to pray for good weather in the official move.

In late spring, Qionghua trees and snow, the earth is deep in spring, and the scenery is beautiful, which is a good scenery in the south of the Yangtze River.

So why do the locals call this flower tree Qionghua?

First, the blossoms of this tree are as white as snow, and Joan means that snow is as white as jade.

Second, this tree is likely to have existed during the period of Emperor Yang of Sui, and it is rumored that Emperor Yang of Sui went to Yangzhou, which is to see Qionghua.

These two statements account for 50% each.

During the period of Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty, it is debatable whether Yangzhou really came to see this flower tree, because Yangzhou should have a wood hydrangea in late spring, which is a feast for the eyes.

So the age of the tree is a problem. The age of the Jubaxian tree, which resembles the Qionghua, can reach more than 300 years.

The flower tree that Wang Yuyan saw should be more than 100 years old, it is precisely because of the old tree with white flowers that it is particularly luxuriant, so Yangzhou people are willing to attach to the Sui Yang Emperor period, which is after all the highlight era of Yangzhou.

Then the actual Yangzhou Qionghua has long been famous in the local area, as a local, I will definitely take you to see this Qionghua in Yangzhou. Beautiful enough, dazzling enough, spectacular enough.

Wang Yuyan also said that he didn't know what the name of this tree was. Because it's certainly not a wood hydrangea.

"Qionghua peony medicine is incoherent, and even if you don't write poems, you will complain.

He was drunk with Wushuang Pavilion and knew that he lived up to Guangling Chun. Northern Song · Ouyang Xiu "Promise to Ship and See Mail"

Ouyang Xiu used to be the prefect of Yangzhou, Yangzhou is famous for its abundance of peonies, of course, this tree Qionghua has already become a landmark in Yangzhou.

Ouyang Xiu likes this tree Qionghua very much, and specially built a Wushuang Pavilion here to facilitate tourists to enjoy the flowers, and of course, it is also to stimulate Yangzhou's tourism economy. But this Qionghua is not an ordinary plant and tree, and it has not been seen in the entire Yangzhou, including many places in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, at least with Ouyang Xiu, a person who loves landscapes and plants, has not seen the same flowers and trees.

So this Wushuang Pavilion is also Ouyang Xiu's love for this Qionghua.

I once got drunk under the Wushuang Pavilion, and I knew that I had lived up to Yangzhou, because I was making a name for Qionghua.

I love Joanhua.

So is this Qionghua really only available in Yangzhou, and is it the only one?

At the time, the answer was yes.

Because this flower tree is very peculiar.

"Zhu Yan shielding stone is a platform, only saying that Yangzhou land can be planted.

If you are in the same Japanese language as the Eight Immortals, why does Jiurui have incense.

This flower can be argued, and it has refused to move since the past.

You have to look at the unparalleled pavilion, and the wine leaves of the ancestral hall are cups. Song · Fu Mengde "Houtu Ancestral Hall Qionghua"

This is the poet who has seen the Qionghua to write about the difference between this tree flower and other flowers.

And he said, The tree is surrounded by a red balustrade, and is enclosed with stones. Only Yangzhou can survive.

If you say that Qionghua is compared with Hydrangea, it must be different, because Qionghua has a nine-petal surrounding flower and has a rich fragrance.

There are only eight flowers around the eight immortals, and the fragrance is light.

And this Qionghua has been transplanted before, and it will not bloom without it.

So I was on the Wushuang Pavilion, and I toasted a glass of wine to the flower tree, you are the god flower tree of Yangzhou.

"The fragrance is so delicate and beautiful, and the butterflies are fluttering outside the beads.

Looking at the ancestral hall after the relatives, it is not a gathering of eight immortals in the world. Southern Song · Zhao Shi "Qionghua"

During the Southern Song Dynasty, many people were discussing the difference between this Qionghua and other flowers.

Similar to Qionghua is the poly hydrangea. Many people will also say that this is the poly hydrangea.

But those who have appreciated the magnificence and beauty of this tree will emphasize that it is not a gathering of immortals. Because the aroma is unique and intense.

"The clusters of Ying Ying jade are broken and round, and the dew is warm and wants to smoke.

Relatives follow the soil to divide strange species, not the eight immortals in the world. Song · Liu Xueji Qionghua is one of them

"The old scriptures in the view of the Tibetan view, in May I have seen the green leaves thick.

Today's homeland jade tree, the spring breeze blows dreams of Yangzhou. "Song · Liu Xueji, Qionghua, second

This poem of the Southern Song Dynasty should be realistic.

The poet once went to the Houtu Temple in person, planted Qionghua in branches, planted it in its homeland and survived, and it was already full of flowers, making people feel as if they were returning to Yangzhou. He emphasized that this kind of flower is not a gathering of immortals.

In fact, it also shows that during the Southern Song Dynasty, many people could not distinguish the difference between Qionghua and Jubaxian.

So in Yangzhou, in addition to this Qionghua, the actual Hydrangea is equivalent to Qionghua in the extensive planting.

So why is this happening?

First, this tree must be used as a protective ornamental tree, and it is difficult for ordinary people to obtain branches and plant them.

Second, because of the ornamental beauty of Qionghua, people plant hydrangeas similar to Qionghua.

Third, Qionghua can survive by cuttings, but only a few people can obtain it.

"The Spring Festival Gala drove to the ancient ancestral hall to see the flowers and recite the old poems.

The boy remembered that in June and July, there were three or five branches in the great heat.

Drunk and thinking about the past, I want to stand up for a long time.

The eight immortals seem to be suspicious, and they are only a trace away from the immortals. Southern Song Dynasty · Zheng Zheng "Qionghua"

This is Zheng Zheng in the late Southern Song Dynasty, when he came to the Houtu Temple, the flower tree he saw was obviously not Qionghua, but was already similar to Qionghua's gathering of eight immortals.

He said that when he was a child, he also saw Qionghua blooming here during the summer solar term in June and July.

Obviously, the current flowers are no longer the Qionghua of the year, but the replanted Ju Eight Immortals.

Compared with Qionghua, what is lacking is that kind of fragrance, that kind of fairy.

So in this ancient poem, the Qionghua has existed and disappeared, so what kind of flower and tree is it?

In fact, Qionghua should be the same as the wood hydrangea and the hydrangea that belong to the genus Hydrangea viburnum. It is native to the mountains of the Yangtze River and Huai River basins in mainland China, and belongs to mountain forests and shrubs.

The flower clusters of wood hydrangea are more abundant and beautiful, so there were introduced seeds in the Tang Dynasty, called pink balls or butterfly balls.

Then the Qionghua of Yangzhou Houtu Temple is likely not to be artificially introduced, but naturally grown. It is a wild variant of the genus Hydrangea, just because this tree is preserved in the temple, it has not been artificially removed as a miscellaneous tree, and it has been maintained as an ancient tree for a long time, so it has a long life, lush branches and leaves, and flowers have formed a spectacular sea of flowers.

Sun Mian Zhen Weiyang during the Northern Song Dynasty. I sent people to check in the mountains and found that there were many of them. But when the people cut down the weeds and weeds, and there were often wildfires to burn them, this plant did not grow much, and the flowers were thin and barren, and it was not suitable for ornamentation.

It is indeed rare to survive for more than a hundred years in the Houtu temple like this, not only rare, but also full of trees and flowers, stretching its unique fragrance and beauty. For example, it has one more flower cluster than the hydrangea and has a rich aroma.

So there is only one way for this kind of flower tree to make it continue, which is to create a wild environment, let animals trample on it, break branches, and promote it to constantly produce new seedlings and obtain species continuity. There is also a way to take the branches from the mother tree and cut them widely by hand.

But it is a pity that in the Northern Song Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty, people are regarded as strange trees and strange flowers for ornamentation, but the similar type of hydrangea has been widely planted and continued, and this tree Qionghua has undergone several transplants and felling, and finally disappeared.

But is there anything in the wild? I believe that there will still be vast mountains and forests in the wilderness, but maybe the small shrub period is not attractive enough and easy to be overlooked.
