Three manufacturing methods for cover molds

1. Panel stamping die

1. Deep drawing die

The drawing die is the most important equipment to ensure the quality of the plate material. Its role is to shape the flat wool into a three-dimensional workpiece by a stretching process.

There are two types of drawing dies: normal stretch and reverse stretch. The front drawing die, punch and pressure ring are at the top, and the die is at the bottom. It uses a double-acting press. The punch is mounted on the inner slide and the pressure ring is mounted on the outer slide. When forming, the outer slider goes down first, the pressure ring presses the wool on the die surface, and then the inner slider goes down. The punch extends the wool into the cavity of the die, and under the action of the punch, the die and the pressure ring, the wool undergoes a large plastic deformation. The punch and pressure ring of the flip drawing die are below, and the die is above. It uses a single-acting press, the punch is mounted directly on the lower table, and the pressure ring uses the ejector cylinder under the press to obtain the required pressing force through the ejector rod. Flip drawing dies can only be used if the ejection pressure can meet the pressing requirements.

2. Punching die

The trimming die is used to cut off the remaining material of the supplementary part of the drawing part process and the edge pressing, and prepare the conditions for flanging forming. In small batch production, it can be replaced by simple equipment such as manual. Trimming die trimming usually doubles as punching.

In the trimming mold, the waste should be cut into several sections, each length between 200 ~ 300mm ~ 300mm, so that the cut waste can be packed and transported out.

3. Flanging die

Flanging die is to turn one part of the material of a semi-finished workpiece over relative to another. According to the stamping direction of the flanging, the flanging die can be divided into vertical flanging die and horizontal flanging die. Horizontal flanging (including beveling) requires a wedge structure to complete the flanging forming. The side mold is also a necessary equipment for the manufacture of qualified panels.

Second, the cover fixture

1. Welding fixture is an important equipment for welding wall plate assembly. Depending on the content and level of the assembly, it can be divided into several types of fixtures, which are usually named after various assemblies.

2. Inspection fixture

The inspection tool is the main measuring tool for a comprehensive inspection of the wall plate and its assembly, and its inspection content mainly includes three-dimensional contour, outline and size. The test data is compared with the tolerance requirements specified in the inspection reference book to determine whether the workpiece is qualified or not.

3. Model

1. Solid model

The traditional stamping die machining method is based on a solid model. The model has the advantages of intuitiveness, reliable data acquisition, and low requirements for processing equipment. Therefore, at present, most domestic manufacturers still use solid model processing.

The modification of the process model is usually based on the needs of the stamping process and the direction of high-speed stamping, and the main model is used to add the supplementary part of the process. Since the surface of the process model is taken from the inner surface of the covering, the punch and pressure ring of the stretching die can be processed directly with the process model for profiling or CNC profiling. Regarding the die processing of the drawing die, there are two methods at present: one is to reverse the process model of a die according to the process model of the punch, and then the processing program of the die is directly generated by the computer according to the process model of the die. This approach is gradually replacing the previous one. Therefore, the solid model only needs to make a positive process model of punch shape, that is, to meet the needs of mold processing, and no longer use transition models such as process sample frames.

2. Mathematical model

The application of electronic computers to establish the mathematical model of the cover parts creates conditions for the computer-aided design and manufacturing of automobile molds. Mathematical models can simulate assembly and adjust stamping direction on a computer screen, which is not possible with physical models. Therefore, the use of mathematical models to process molds represents the development direction of the mold industry, which will completely change the state that the quality of molds depends on the skills of craftsmen.
