On the occasion of the 29th World Book Day, all units and sub-districts in Hexi District organized and carried out World Book Day theme activities to promote the construction of "Scholarly Tianjin", expand the influence of national reading, and further promote the embedding of reading into urban culture and people's lives.
The 2024 World Book Day theme activity in Hexi District, "Go to the Book Appointment and Feel the Beauty of Reading" and the 13th Reading Festival on Machang Street were launched. During the event, Tianjin Normal University and Hexi District Library awarded a plaque to the Haihe Cultural Context Research Base, and invited Hu Yanjie, associate professor of the Institute of Ancient Book Protection of Tianjin Normal University, to share the history of Tianjin calligraphy with readers and take everyone to appreciate the profound heritage of Tianjin culture. The Yijing Village Community of Youyi Road Street and Tianjin Library jointly launched the "Little Librarian" volunteer service practice activity, in which 40 young volunteers participated, which became a unique landscape of the library. At the scene, the children experienced the whole process of a new book from processing to borrowing as "little librarians", exercised everyone's collaboration and communication skills, and promoted the awareness of teenagers to love books, read more and read good books.
