According to Hou, Huawei's fully liquid-cooled supercharging solution has been deployed in more than 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), including Beijing, Guangdong, Chongqing, Shanghai, Hainan, Inner Mongolia, and Sichuan, covering extreme environments such as high temperatures, severe cold, and high altitudes. In 2024, Huawei plans to work with customers and partners to deploy more than 100,000 ultra-fast charging piles.

High-voltage fast charging will become the standard configuration of electric vehicles in the future, and in order to achieve rapid energy replenishment, it is an inevitable trend to develop high-voltage architecture at the vehicle end, and the number of car companies equipped with high-voltage fast charging platforms and high-rate batteries is increasing.

According to the research report, high-voltage fast charging has become a new trend, and the 800V high-voltage charging platform is concentrated on the car, mainly for models with more than 200,000 yuan. Xiaomi SU7, Wenjie series, Zhijie S7, Leap C16, SAIC Zhiji L6, Geely Krypton MIX and other models have been deployed. The Beijing Auto Show shows the trend of independent intelligence, electrification and high-end, ushering in a new era of comprehensive rise, and is optimistic about car companies with strong new car cycles, high proportion of new energy and incremental growth.

Leading battery companies are actively deploying fast charging products. Since 2023, battery companies such as China Innovation Airlines, Sunwoda, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, Juwan Technology Co., Ltd., and CATL have made progress in the field of fast charging and have successively released "top streams". In August 2023, CATL released the world's first lithium iron phosphate 4C battery, which can last up to 400 kilometers in 10 minutes of charging.

At present, many car companies have released models that support 800V high-voltage charging platforms, and it is expected that models of more than 100,000 yuan may support ultra-fast charging technology in the future.

At present, the business model of charging piles in mainland China mainly includes the model of "charging pile + commodity retail + service consumption", the mode of "charging APP + cloud service + remote intelligent management", and the model of "vehicle manufacturer + equipment manufacturer + operator + user".

After the liberalization of electricity reform, the construction of charging facilities will be marketized, and private capital is expected to enter, while charging pile enterprises have the advantage of being familiar with the market, and the synergistic effect brought by turning to downstream links will also be fully revealed. As capital from all walks of life have entered the field of charging operations, the transformation of equipment enterprises + capital will bring innovation in various operating models.

At present, the innovative business models of the charging pile industry in mainland China include Changzhou crowdfunding model, "electric pile" model, PPP model, Teruide model, China Central Place model and so on. In addition, there are currently three mainstream international charging pile operation models, namely the government-led charging pile operation mode, the charging pile operation mode led by power grid enterprises, and the charging pile operation mode led by automobile manufacturers.

With the increase in the penetration rate of new energy vehicles, the number of public charging piles in mainland China continues to reach a new high. According to the data, from 2015 to 2023, the scale of domestic public charging pile construction continued to rise, and its ownership scale increased rapidly from 150,000 units in 2015 to 2.726 million units in 2023, with a CAGR of 43.7%.

At present, the domestic public charging piles are mainly AC charging piles. As of the end of June 2023, there were 1.24 million public AC charging piles, accounting for 57.7%, and 908,000 public DC charging piles, accounting for 42.3%.
