author:The old days of the building

One day in June 1934, in the interrogation room of the Central Unified Action Zone in Shanghai, a woman was so frightened that she trembled and said in a trembling voice: "Don't torture me, I'll tell you everything I know..."

The woman's name is Qin Manyun, and she was a staff member of the Office of the Central Bureau of the Party of China at that time. Qin Manyun was born in a declining scholarly family in Jinan, Shandong, and it is worth mentioning that her brother Qin Maoxuan was a revolutionary martyr. In her early years, Qin Manyun was smart and clever, liked to read, and was admitted to a girls' middle school in her hometown. When he was a student, Qin Manyun, under the influence and drive of his brother, gradually embarked on the revolutionary road.

In 1925, at the age of 17, Qin Manyun officially joined the revolution, joined the Communist Youth League, and served as the branch secretary of his school. Later, due to Qin Manyun's outstanding performance, she was absorbed into the party organization. At this time, Qin Manyun was full of ambition and full of longing for the future.

In 1927, Qin Manyun was sent by the party organization to study at Sun Yat-sen University in the Soviet Union. During his study abroad, his classmate Guan Xiang had a good impression of Qin Manyun, and the two gradually developed feelings for each other, and finally combined together and became a revolutionary couple.

In 1929, Qin and Guan were ordered to return to China, and under the organizational arrangement, the couple came to Shanghai to engage in underground work. At that time, Shanghai was full of white terror, and Kuomintang spies pursued our party personnel everywhere, and Guan Xiangying, although cautious, was arrested for betrayal by a traitor.

After Guan Xiangying was arrested, the Party Central Committee took great pains to rescue him. Organizationally, for the sake of safety, it was decided to arrange for Guan Xiangying to work in the Soviet area. However, Qin Manyun was reluctant to accompany her, she had long been accustomed to the petty bourgeois life in Shanghai, and the husband and wife had a rift because of this.

Due to the long-term separation between the two places, the relationship between Qin Manyun and Guan Xiangying deteriorated more and more, and finally developed to the point of divorce. Qin Manyun's classmate Sheng Zhongliang in the Soviet Union was overjoyed when he heard about this, he already had a good impression of Qin Manyun, so he started his pursuit of her.

Sheng Zhongliang's love offensive was extremely fierce, and Qin Manyun was difficult to parry, so they both fell in love. Just when Sheng and Qin were immersed in the sweetness of love and couldn't extricate themselves, a disaster quietly came.

Li Zhusheng, secretary of the Shanghai Central Bureau of the Communist Party of China, was arrested by agents of the Kuomintang Central Committee while engaged in underground activities. Also arrested were Qin Manyun and other staff members.

Unexpectedly, Li Zhusheng couldn't stand the torture of the enemy, so he became a renegade and confessed Sheng Zhongliang's address. The spy of Zhongtong followed the vine and quickly controlled Sheng Zhongliang.

Unlike Li Zhusheng, Sheng Zhongliang took a firm stand, and even after being tortured, he still refused to reveal the slightest party secret. But Qin Manyun was weak and not easy, the enemy only intimidated her, and her position was shaken, so there was the beginning scene.

In order to pry open Sheng Zhongliang's mouth, the enemy used Qin Manyun to persuade him to surrender. When Sheng Zhongliang saw this, his revolutionary will was gone, and he eventually became a renegade.

After Sheng Zhongliang and his wife defected to the enemy, they revealed a large number of party secrets to the enemy and betrayed many comrades, and the party organization in Shanghai suffered serious damage as a result. Sheng Zhongliang and Qin Manyun were arranged to work within the Kuomintang because of their meritorious informants.

In 1949, Sheng Zhongliang and his wife fled to Taiwan with the Kuomintang regime, and later to the United States. In the United States, Sheng Zhongliang and Qin Manyun made a living by doing business, and their business gradually flourished, and they eventually became the richest among local overseas Chinese.

In the early 80s of the last century, Qin Manyun was homesick, so he applied to the mainland government to return to China. Although Qin Manyun was a traitor, the Party Central Committee agreed to her return to China after some consideration and sent Wang Heshou to receive her.

Wang Heshou and Qin Manyun were classmates at Sun Yat-sen University and were unfortunately arrested, but Wang Heshou's revolutionary will was extremely resolute and he never bowed to the enemy. One day in 1981, Wang Heshou met with Qin Manyun at the Beijing Hotel, as a time-tested revolutionary, Wang Heshou hated traitors very much, and when talking to Qin Manyun, he showed a calm, neither humble nor arrogant demeanor.

Seeing that Wang Heshou was reluctant to take care of herself, Qin Manyun had nothing to say, she said flatteringly: "Over the years, you must have suffered a lot..."Hearing this, Wang Heshou smiled coldly: "Whether or not to suffer is a matter for our party, how can outsiders worry about it?" This sentence made Qin Manyun ashamed, she was embarrassed to stay any longer, so she found an excuse to leave...
