Previously, WeChat Pay HK has been connected to the public transport networks of Guangzhou and Foshan, and currently covers a total of 15 popular mainland cities where "Hong Kong people go north", and most of the public transport systems in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories and outlying islands in Hong Kong.

When the user activates the bus or subway code of the corresponding city, he or she can authorize the automatic deduction of the Hong Kong dollar balance of the WeChat Hong Kong wallet, the bound Hong Kong credit card or bank account. After activation, users can scan the QR code in the corresponding city to take the bus without queuing up to buy tickets, and the fare will be automatically converted into Hong Kong dollars for payment at the preferential exchange rate. The WeChat Hong Kong Wallet will also be connected to more public transport networks in mainland cities in succession, continuously enhancing the convenience of Hong Kong people travelling to the mainland for business and visiting relatives and friends.

According to the data, in addition to the cities in the Greater Bay Area, mainland cities such as Shanghai, Xiamen and Wuhan also rank among the top in terms of transaction value and number of transactions.
