The opening of the 6th Jiangnan Culture and Art International Tourism Festival Liu Xiaotao and Wu Qingwen attended the opening ceremony
Tonight (April 25), with the theme concert of "Spring Warmth in Jiangnan, Joy and Harmony" at the Suzhou Culture and Art Center, the 6th Jiangnan Culture and Art International Tourism Festival kicked off. Liu Xiaotao, Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, and Wu Qingwen, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, attended the opening ceremony.
At the concert, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, the Suzhou National Orchestra and the Wu Yun Choral Art Troupe jointly presented classic repertoire such as "Peony Pavilion Garden", "Jasmine Blossom", "Fisherman's Song" and "Masquerade Ball". Classical folk music and international symphony echo each other, and the cross-border cooperation between opera and music highlights the openness, inclusiveness and exquisite integration of Jiangnan culture, which fascinates the audience.
Since 2019, the Jiangnan Culture and Art International Tourism Festival has been successfully held for five sessions, which is an important window for Suzhou to inherit and promote Jiangnan culture and a vivid sample of innovative practice of humanistic economics. This year's Jiangnan Culture and Art International Tourism Festival adheres to the tenet of "a grand event of culture and art, a festival for the people", with the theme of "the most beautiful Jiangnan and the most beautiful window", adheres to the cultural taste, youthfulness, fireworks and characteristics, and focuses on the six major sections of Yayun Jiangnan, Leyou Jiangnan, Intangible Cultural Heritage Jiangnan, Light and Shadow Jiangnan, Wenhua Jiangnan, and Bright Jiangnan. Famous series and other themed cultural business cards, in-depth shaping of Jiangnan cultural brand, to better meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people.
The event will run until June this year. Among them, the much-watched Leyou Jiangnan section focuses on tourism promotion, garden culture and food culture, and has launched activities such as the large-scale CCTV live broadcast of "Reading Suzhou between Square Inches", the Spring Food Carnival of "Suzhou Top Ten Bowls", the "Taste of Suzhou" and the "Night Park Gusu" Suzhou Garden Night Tour Project, etc., to explore the connotation of Suzhou garden culture and food culture, and promote the in-depth integration and development of culture, business and tourism. Especially in the large-scale CCTV live broadcast event of "Reading Suzhou between Square Inch", Suzhou linked Taobao, Douyin, Tongcheng Travel and Suzhou Cultural Tourism and other platforms to launch a 4-hour special live broadcast with goods, covering scenic hotels, intangible cultural heritage arts, performing arts exhibitions, food and snacks, etc., to send the most distinctive Suzhou good things to the majority of netizens.
This year's Jiangnan Culture and Art International Tourism Festival focuses on the "experiential" and "immersive" cultural needs of young people, and attracts young people to gather in Suzhou with light and shadow art, avant-garde repertoire, and star concerts. Kunqu opera youth version of "The Peony Pavilion", dance drama "Only This Green", drama "Thunderstorm", "White Deer Plain" and other literary and artistic works will be staged in turn, and star concerts such as Lin Junjie and Zhou Huajian will also further release the musical enthusiasm of young people. At the same time, Suzhou launched a traditional intangible cultural heritage feast, with silk culture and folk culture as the main content, and held a series of theme activities such as "Silk Rhyme Jiangnan Strange Silk Ideas", 2024 "Rolling Immortals" folk cultural activities, Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Boat Race, "Tang Bohu" The 6th Jiangnan Hanfu National Style Show and other activities to show the ancient charm and modern style of Jiangnan culture in an all-round way.
The event will also continue to promote culture, business and tourism to benefit the people, and issue subsidies of 17 million yuan for cultural tourism, catering and performing arts through the "Su Zhoudao" APP and other entrances, so that citizens in Suzhou and tourists in Suzhou can share the cultural and tourism feast.
Representatives of relevant enterprises, responsible comrades of relevant provincial departments, and municipal leaders Jin Jie, Zhang Lijun, Huang Jing and Zha Yingdong attended the opening ceremony.
