We know that in the process of air combat, the fighter will first use the radar's wide-area search mode to find targets in the relevant airspace, and after discovering the target, it will immediately switch to the centralized irradiation mode, which is the lock of the fire control radar on the target, and the relevant data will also be transmitted to the air-to-air missiles carried by the aircraft. At this time, as long as the pilot has the intention to attack, he can choose to destroy the target with missiles or cannons. In other words, locking on the opponent with the fire control radar is basically the last step before firing, and it is almost a finger to press the launch button.
