Cervical cancer is recognized worldwide as a serious threat to women's health, and HPV virus infection is an important cause of cervical cancer. HPV is the abbreviation of papillomavirus, which can be divided into two categories: low-risk type and high-risk type according to the type of pathogenicity or carcinogenic risk. Earlier, the National Health Commission issued the Action Plan for Accelerating the Elimination of Cervical Cancer (2023-2030), and this event is also one of the important measures to implement the action plan.
"At present, the incidence of cervical cancer in mainland China is increasing year by year and is now younger, and the HPV infection rate of Chinese women is distributed in a "double peak" according to age: the first peak is 17-24 years old, and the second peak is 40-44 years old. HPV vaccination can effectively prevent the occurrence of cervical cancer, and it is also necessary to strengthen cervical cancer screening, detection and timely treatment of cervical cancer in women of appropriate age, so as to effectively prevent and control cervical cancer and eventually achieve its elimination.
At present, there are three main types of HPV vaccines on the market: bivalent, quadrivalent, and nine-valent. Liu Xiaoyi, a physician at the vaccination clinic of the Huangqi Community Health Service Center in Dali Town, Nanhai District, pointed out that the bivalent vaccine mainly targets HPV16 and HPV18 types, and the quadrivalent vaccine increases the protection against HPV6 and HPV11 on this basis, while the nine-valent vaccine covers nine types of HPV, all of which have good efficacy and safety.
