On April 25, the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference opened. In the release of major achievements, 10 major scientific and technological achievements were collectively unveiled.

The "Zhongguancun World-Leading Science and Technology Park Construction Plan (2024-2027)" focuses on the concept leadership to drive original innovation, talent development, first-class enterprises, high-end industries, and open innovation ecology, deploys 50 key tasks in five aspects, and launches a new batch of major policies and reform measures, so as to build Zhongguancun into the main position of the construction of Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center, a breakthrough in the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and a leader in China's high-quality development. A key hub of the global innovation network, contributing to China's modernization.

In the AI era, optical computing technology, which replaces "electricity" with "light" as the information processing carrier, has become an important technical core of artificial intelligence chips. Dai Qionghai's team at Tsinghua University broke through the physical bottleneck in the traditional chip architecture and developed the world's first fully analog optoelectronic intelligent computing chip. The chip has the characteristics of high speed and low power consumption, and the computing power in intelligent visual object recognition tasks is more than 3,000 times that of the current high-performance commercial chips, and the energy efficiency is increased by 4 million times.

Optical crystals are known as the "heart" of laser technology. Among the 10 major achievements, the "corner phase matching theory" creatively proposed by the research team of Peking University used boron nitride to prepare the ultra-thin and energy-efficient optical crystal "corner rhombic nitride" for the first time. With a thickness of only microns and an increase in energy efficiency of at least 100 times, it lays the theoretical and material foundation for a new generation of laser technology.

In March this year, the Wensheng video model Sola set off a wave of artificial intelligence, and in this achievement release, the series of achievements of artificial intelligence in mainland China attracted widespread attention. With the rapid evolution of AIGC technology, the release of multiple 100-billion-parameter pedestal large models, the leading user scale in China, the continuous enhancement of long text context understanding capabilities, the gradual expansion of AI Agent agent applications, and the initial potential of embodied intelligence, the first domestic launch of the Wensheng music model, the original breakthrough of the Wensheng video model, and the significant improvement in generation time and quality. Led by originality and based on the value-driven release of the world's first general artificial intelligence system prototype "Tongtong", which can recognize human intentions and actively provide help, has reached a certain level of intelligence for children, and is continuing to grow.

Brain-computer interface is a new type of cross-cutting technology that establishes a connection between the brain and external devices, and is a scientific and technological frontier that is competing for development in the world. Beijing Institute of Brain Science and Brain-like Sciences, together with Beijing Xinzhida Neurotechnology Co., Ltd., successfully built the "Beibrain No. 2" high-performance invasive intelligent brain-computer system. The self-developed high-throughput flexible microfilament electrode and high-speed neural signal acquisition equipment with large channel number can effectively support the development of efficient motor imaging neural codec, leading the electrode performance parameters in the world, and realizing the dexterous brain control of the two-dimensional motion cursor for the first time in the world. The breakthrough of this technical problem has laid the foundation for clinical applications such as the development of a new generation of neuroprostheses that are more natural and flexible.

Beijing Institute of Quantum Information Science, together with the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University and other teams, completed the construction of a large-scale quantum cloud computing power cluster, realizing the deep integration of 5 100-bit quantum chip computing resources and classical computing resources, with a total number of physical bits reaching 590, and the comprehensive index has entered the first echelon in the world.

The first prototype of the 300 MW F-class heavy-duty gas turbine developed by the State Power Investment Corporation rolled off the assembly line, which is the largest power and highest-tech heavy-duty gas turbine independently developed by the mainland, with the characteristics of clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient, which is of great significance to ensuring national energy security and brings more possibilities and opportunities for the development of the global energy field.

To safeguard food security, science and technology play an important role. The Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences used genetic improvement to safeguard food security, and the team used natural population materials of sorghum in the high saline-alkali land of the Sahel in Africa to locate and clone major genes significantly related to alkali tolerance, and revealed the mechanism by which they confer high salinity tolerance in plants. This achievement provides a new idea for the comprehensive utilization of saline-alkali land and the guarantee of food security.

In addition, the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Beijing Open Source Chip Research Institute have developed the third-generation "Xiangshan" open source high-performance RISC-V processor core, which is the first processor core jointly developed in the world based on the open source model and using agile development methods.

"China Sky Eye" The scientific research team of the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has detected the brightest gamma-ray burst in history based on the ultra-high sensitivity detection system of the high-altitude cosmic ray observatory, injecting new vitality into the exploration of the origin of the universe; the large scientific engineering team of magnetic confinement nuclear fusion of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has realized the world's longest repeatable high-confinement mode plasma operation based on the all-superconducting tokamak nuclear fusion experimental deviceIt has led the international research on magnetic confinement fusion, and laid a solid foundation for mankind to develop and utilize clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient nuclear fusion energy.
