On April 19~20, 2024, sponsored by the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Jiangxi Provincial Society of Translational Medicine, and undertaken by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Hospital (the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang Medical College), the first Medical Forum on the Construction of Specialties with Equal Advantages of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and the Inaugural Meeting of the Oncology Professional Committee of the Jiangxi Translational Medicine Society was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi. At the meeting, it was announced that the Oncology Professional Committee of Jiangxi Translational Medicine Society was officially established. Yu Jianhua, deputy director of the Oncology Department of Jiangxi Provincial People's Hospital, was elected as the first chairman of the committee.
Fang Fangfang, member of the Party Group of Jiangxi Provincial Health Commission and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Hospital, Zou Qingshui, Chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Society of Translational Medicine and Vice President of the Provincial People's Hospital, Li Pingping, Professor of Peking University Cancer Hospital, Chen Xinyi, Professor of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Luo Jiekun, Deputy Director of the Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, and nearly 200 oncology experts from all over the province attended the inaugural meeting. Zheng Zhi, vice chairman of Jiangxi Provincial Society of Translational Medicine and president of the Provincial People's Hospital Flagship Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, presided over the meeting.
On behalf of Jiangxi Provincial People's Hospital, Fang Fang extended warm congratulations to the establishment of the special committee. In her speech, she said that as the first chairman unit, the hospital will give unconditional support to the special committee, and hoped that under the leadership of Chairman Yu Jianhua, the special committee can unite and forge ahead, play the role of a bridge and link of the special committee, actively promote the scientific research and clinical transformation of oncology, and promote the development of disciplines and the construction of the society.
On behalf of the Jiangxi Provincial Society of Translational Medicine, Zou Qingshui congratulated the elected chairman, vice chairman and secretary-general, standing committee members and all members of the special committee, and hoped that the special committee would conscientiously abide by the articles of association and adhere to the principle of democratically running the meeting, firmly establish a sense of service, always highlight academic-oriented, strengthen academic exchanges and tumor science publicity, strengthen the transformation of scientific research achievements and clinical research, and continuously expand the influence of the society.
In his speech, Yu Jianhua thanked the leaders of the Provincial People's Hospital, the Jiangxi Provincial Society of Translational Medicine and the oncology colleagues in the province for their trust, and said that the special committee will grasp the correct development direction under the leadership of the society, uphold the spirit of "unity, sharing, hard work and innovation", build a new high-level communication platform for oncology, strengthen the clinical and basic research of tumors, adhere to the core of translational medicine, accelerate the transformation of research results, continuously improve clinical innovation capabilities, and actively promote the faster development of the field of oncology in our province.
At the meeting, the sharing of experts fully reflected the theme of the conference, "Equal emphasis on Chinese and Western, inheritance and innovation, cross-integration, and medical transformation", and the atmosphere of the venue was warm.
