Today (April 24), in the "Qiongyue UAV Public Freight Logistics Cross-sea First Flight Ceremony" held by the Wenchang International Space City Administration of Hainan Province, the FP-98 "Leo" large UAV system of Aerospace Times Feipeng Co., Ltd. successfully implemented the cross-sea air transport mission of shrimp seedlings for the first time, opening up a new application scenario for the field of low-altitude economic feeder logistics.
As the first batch of advanced technology achievements transformation projects of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense in Suzhou, Aerospace Times Feipeng Co., Ltd. is currently the world's largest unmanned transport aircraft system research and development unit, and has set up a R&D headquarters and industrial drone manufacturing center in Kunshan Huaqiao Economic Development Zone. The FP-98 "Leo" large unmanned aerial system has a maximum take-off weight of 5.25 tons, a maximum range of 1,200 kilometers, and an effective commercial load of 1.5 tons, and obtained the type certificate issued by the East China Regional Administration of Civil Aviation of China on April 18.
Since its successful maiden flight in 2018, the FP-98 unmanned transport aircraft system has successfully carried out multiple transport missions such as Sanya City, Hainan Province, Xisha Yongxing Island, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, and Dongfang City, Hainan Province, with a total flight of 42,500 kilometers. It is reported that this system not only has the characteristics of long range and heavy load, but also has a wide range of applications and strong environmental adaptability, and can be used in logistics and transportation, emergency rescue, maritime salvage, communication relay, forest fire fighting, agriculture and forestry plant protection, artificial rain enhancement and other scenarios, and can perform tasks in complex environments such as mountains, plateaus, jungles, islands, Gobi and deserts.
Wenchang is known as China's "shrimp seedling valley", occupying 70% of the country's market, and 100 billion shrimp seedlings are sold all over the country every year. However, the transportation and preservation of shrimp seedlings has not been effectively solved, the traditional sea and land transportation mode is long, and the loss of shrimp seedlings is high, taking Zhuhai Lianzhou, a major shrimp town with the nearest and annual demand for shrimp seedlings, as an example, it takes 12 hours to transport from Wenchang, Hainan to Zhuhai Lianzhou by land, and the comprehensive loss rate in the transportation process reaches 30%.
In this cross-sea flight, the FP-98 "Leo" large unmanned aerial system loaded with 500 kilograms of fresh shrimp seedlings took off from Haikou Jiazi Airport in Hainan Province at 7:13 a.m., and overcame the impact of bad weather to land at Lianzhou Airport in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province at 10:02, with a range of 500 kilometers. The transportation time of less than 3 hours is 9 hours shorter than that required by the traditional transportation mode, which effectively improves the survival rate of shrimp seedlings. After on-site inspection, the survival rate of shrimp seedlings is 100%.
It is reported that Feipeng has reached a preliminary cooperation intention with relevant parties, and plans to promote the normal operation of this route, help build a new mode of transportation for the Wenchang shrimp seedling industry, and promote the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.
