Today (April 24), the first test flight of the "Connecting Beautiful Everywhere" Zhangjiagang Postal Pilot Low-altitude Logistics Distribution was held on Shuangshan Island. At the event site, the first low-altitude logistics distribution route in the pilot port city of Jingang-Shuangshan Island built by Zhangjiagang Post successfully completed its first flight, and Shuangshan Island became the first drone mail transportation pilot in Suzhou.
At 10:38, the drone carried the islanders' couriers and newspapers, flew from Jingang Post to the receiving point of Shuangshan Island, and realized autonomous take-off and landing and intelligent flight according to the established route. After 3 minutes, the drone landed smoothly, which shortened the time of 20 minutes and reduced the cost by 2% compared with the ferry on the island, and the total length of the route was about 3 kilometers.
"This first flight ceremony marks the trial operation of Zhangjiagang Post's 'Golden Port-Shuangshan Island' UAV mail route. Zhangjiagang Post will summarize the experience of trial operation, and after ensuring the smooth operation of the route, it is expected to enter the formal operation stage from June. Liu Qian, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of China Post Zhangjiagang Branch, introduced that after the official operation, Zhangjiagang Post will arrange at least two frequencies of UAV route delivery tasks every day according to the daily express volume of the island, effectively solving the problem of "difficult to get on the island" of mail on Shuangshan Island.
Not only that, in order to further provide convenience for the residents of the island, Zhangjiagang Post will also open a new service of Jingang "Post Office Preferred" supermarket goods and catering takeaway drones to deliver goods to the island, so as to realize "takeaway on the island".
This year, Zhangjiagang Post will further encrypt the frequency of drone delivery, broaden the coverage of drone delivery, and add routes such as "Zhangjiagang Postal Processing Center - Shuangshan Island" and "China Post Regional Processing Center - Zhangjiagang City" to further explore long-distance drone flight missions, and provide an experimental basis for positioning the port city as a low-altitude economic comprehensive application area and expanding the application scenarios of low-altitude flight in port + logistics services.
