Officially put into operation in 2010, the "Sky Whale" is the first self-propelled cutter suction dredger in Asia and the third strongest in the world, with a number of hard capabilities such as "digging fast, blowing far, standing steady, intelligent, and self-propelling". Since the end of August last year, the construction of the Pinglu Canal has been put into full play, and the "Sky Whale" has given full play to its professional advantages in the marine field, quickly opened the construction operation surface of the estuary section, solved the problems of complex soil quality in the construction area, long transportation distance of dredged soil, and tight construction period, and increased the safety factor of the project while improving the construction quality and production efficiency, and boosted the construction of the Pinglu Canal into a high-quality project, a green project, and a clean project.

The donated reamer has been with the "Sky Whale" for 13 years, with a power of 4,200 kilowatts, which can not only dredge clay, dense sand, and gravel, but also excavate rocks with a compressive strength of up to 40 megapascals. In August 2023, with the "Sky Whale" fighting for the Pinglu Canal Century Project, the cumulative amount of rock excavated in the Pinglu Canal project is about 5 million square meters, and he will retire honorably in February 2024.
