The "Beijing Urban Master Plan (2016-2035)" proposes to shape the urban characteristics of "the style of the capital, the charm of the ancient capital, and the style of the times", and the "Beijing Garden City Special Plan (2023-2035)" implements this urban characteristic, proposes to shape the garden characteristics of "landscape beauty, ancient and modern blending, and forest garden clusters", and constructs a landscape structure of "two mountains and one bay, two axes dominating, five rings skeleton, and multiple corridors in series", connecting various plans, Introduce multi-dimensional perspectives, scientifically and rationally allocate resource elements, promote the integration of urban green, carefully build the essence demonstration area of the garden city, create an excellent garden city demonstration scene, and promote the high-quality development and construction of the living environment.

In order to discuss and exchange cutting-edge concepts and practical experience on the construction of garden cities, on April 25, the "City is a Garden - Beijing Garden City Summit Seminar" will be held at the Beijing Planning Exhibition Center. The event was guided by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Commission and the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Landscaping, organized by the Beijing Institute of Urban Planning and Design, the Beijing Academy of Landscaping Sciences, the Beijing Planning Exhibition Center, and the Sanlian Humanistic City, and co-organized by the China Urban Planning Society.
With the theme of "City is Garden", the seminar invited senior experts in urban planning, ecological environment, landscape architecture, architectural design, humanities and social sciences and other fields to discuss the policies, methods and practices of building a garden city in Beijing. As one of the organizers of the event, Sanlian Humanities City will broadcast the seminar live.
On April 26, two parallel activities will also be held at the Dongsi Horticultural Station and the West Mill Street. The "Create Your Own Pocket Garden" and "Hutong Planting" notices respectively invite the public to participate in the construction and discussion of the garden city by explaining the city walk through the activities of bonsai DIY and plant treasure hunting.
