"Granja Peralada", a former farm turned a wine destination with beautiful illuminated buildings and a tranquil garden, adds to its charm and sustainability: a farm is reimagined as a radiant wine paradise.
"Granja Peralada", once a farm, has been transformed into a place for experiences, wine sales and tastings. The architectural design of RCR Arquitectes reinterprets the place. This space is made up of different colonnaded buildings with entrances, restaurants and shops.
A central garden, planted with vanilla plants, and a water mirror, in addition to having the function of cooling the underground cellar, provides a picturesque frame that decorates the landscape of Pererada into a chic picture that presents a mesmerizing view of the skyline.
In the project, three types of lighting are combined, which use LED technology with high color reproduction, paired with a warm color temperature, to convey the image of "Granja Peralada" at night.
Light resides primarily in the interior space and radiates outdoors through carefully positioned openings, creating a composition of nighttime light characterized by chiaroscuro. This subtle light, generated from within, bathes the garden in a quiet half-light, which is added to by subtle changes in vegetation, while a strip of light gently illuminates the building's façade and outlines the water mirror.
Ground lighting evenly illuminates the colonnaded building geometry, while light from the top emphasizes the product, providing practicality to the restaurant area.
Finally, the addition of discreet lighting to the exterior vegetation makes "Granja Peralada" a redesigned wine tasting landscape in subtle and warm light and shadow.
