On April 23, Xie Wenhua, Secretary of the Jiangnan District Committee of the Communist Party of China, went to the headquarters of the reconstruction and expansion project of Nanning Wuxu International Airport to investigate the progress of the construction of the T3 terminal area and supporting facilities, emphasizing the need to thoroughly implement the major strategic requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping for Guangxi, seize the major opportunities such as the construction of "one body, two wings", "two ports and one zone", and the construction of Nanning (Shenzhen) ASEAN Industrial Cooperation Zone.
Xie Wenhua had a discussion with the relevant person in charge of the project, learned more about the progress of the project construction, and discussed solutions in depth for the difficulties and problems faced in the process of promoting the project. He pointed out that the construction project of T3 terminal area and supporting facilities of Nanning Wuxu International Airport is a key project for the construction of Nanning Airport's gateway hub and international air cargo hub for ASEAN, which is of great significance to better support Guangxi's higher-level opening up. He stressed that all departments at all levels in the urban area should earnestly improve their political positions, strictly implement the enterprise mechanism of leading cadres serving the project, keep an eye on the overall construction plan of the project, strengthen organizational leadership and coordination, increase the guarantee of various elements, focus on the key problems of "stuck neck", dare to be more serious, make the problem list, task-based and responsible, continuously improve the work ability of the service guarantee project, and make every effort to promote the quality and efficiency of the project construction. At the same time, it is necessary to do solid and detailed work for the masses, go deep into the grassroots frontline, listen to the voices of the masses face-to-face, solve the reasonable demands of the masses in accordance with laws and regulations, continue to strengthen publicity and guidance, and concentrate on supporting the project to accelerate construction.
It is understood that the construction project of Nanning Airport T3 terminal area and supporting facilities closely focuses on the goal of building Nanning Airport into a gateway hub and international air cargo hub for ASEAN, designed in accordance with the target of 34 million passengers per year, with a total investment of 19.8 billion yuan, including 432,000 square meters of T3 terminal, 76 airside apron stands, supporting the construction of navigational lights, fire protection, security, power supply, drainage, production auxiliary rooms, station traffic and viaducts, oil supply projects, etc. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2027, when the total passenger support capacity of Nanning Airport will reach 50 million.
