WORLD BOOK DAY
In order to further promote national reading and forge a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation, in the past few days, Jiangnan District Library has launched a series of activities for the 2024 "4.23" World Book Month with the theme of "Striving for a New Journey and Reading Again", so as to stimulate the reading enthusiasm of readers and create a strong reading atmosphere.
On April 21, Jiangnan District's 2024 "4.23" World Book Day service and publicity series activities were launched in Blue Whale World. The event set up a flash mob display of recitation, book sharing, classic poetry Q&A and bookmark making. Citizens who participated in the event could collect stamps in exchange for cultural and creative gifts, which effectively stimulated the enthusiasm of the general public to share and understand reading, and was well received. On the day of the event, Jiangnan District Library also launched the "4.23" World Book Day and Library Service Publicity Week Special Book Exhibition online, promoting knowledge dissemination and cultivating a new reading trend through online and offline linkage.
On April 23, Jiangnan District Library launched the 2024 "Reading for Half an Hour" reading activity in South China at Nanning Blue Whale World Bookstore, where more than 200 young readers tasted the fragrance of books and enjoyed the joy of reading.
It is reported that the Jiangnan District Library will also hold a variety of reading activities with rich content in the near future. For example, on April 24th and 26th, Nanning Radio and Television Station, Nanning Library, and Nanning Women and Children's Working Committee Office jointly carried out the theme class meeting activity of "Day Bus Growing with Me" in Bagui Greentown Primary School and Wuyi Road Primary School, respectively, and sent book recommendations and VR reading experience to children; on April 27, Nanning Library and other urban libraries jointly carried out service publicity week activities in Jiangnan Wanda; from now until May 17, it was carried out on the WeChat public account of Jiangnan District Library" Born to Beauty, Walking with Beauty" 2024 Famous Teacher Forum 30-day check-in activity, selected 30 aesthetic education lectures led by famous estheticians, well-known artists, national first-class actors, national first-class screenwriters, and outstanding aesthetic education teachers in domestic universities, leading readers to understand, perceive, and explore beauty.
In the next step, Jiangnan District Library will be based on local characteristics, innovate the carrier of national reading activities, continue to build the brand of "Jiangnan Readers", and actively cultivate a new trend of reading by holding offline activities such as special lectures, "Tanabata books", reading sharing, and online activities such as reading check-in and theme book recommendations, so as to better meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the people.
