A total of 70 people attended the opening ceremony, including Wang Chunsheng, Acting Consul General of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Sydney, Director of the Jiangxi Provincial Museum, Jackie Menzies, President of the Asian Art Society of Australia, David Van Newne, President of the Australian Watercolour Society, Wang Shuyu, Cultural Counselor of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Sydney, Josh Stenberg, Deputy Director of the Centre for Chinese Studies at the University of Sydney, Liu Dong, Director of the China Cultural Centre in Sydney and Tourism Office in Sydney, and representatives of the cultural and tourism circles of China and Australia.

In his welcome speech, Liu Dong said that Chinese ceramics have become a symbol of Chinese culture after thousands of years. Since the Han and Tang dynasties, Chinese porcelain has been exported overseas, promoting economic and cultural exchanges between China and the world, and profoundly influencing the culture and lifestyle of people in various countries. This exhibition focuses on the historical development of Chinese porcelain, especially the story of Jiangxi porcelain, and highlights the spirit of Jiangxi porcelain's pursuit of excellence, learning from others' strengths and continuous innovation. It is believed that the Australian people can further appreciate the unique charm of Chinese ceramic culture through this exhibition.

Jackie Menzies said at the scene that Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province is well known to collectors, artists and different cultures from all over the world, and can be said to be China's "visual business card". The exhibition details the history of the development of Chinese ceramics, from which we can see the love of Chinese porcelain from all over the world. In the centuries since the 14th century, Chinese porcelain was exported to Europe along the Maritime Silk Road, fascinating people from all over the world. Through this exhibition, we can see that contemporary Chinese porcelain has both the inheritance of ancient craftsmanship and modern innovative design, which has made me gain a lot.

Shi Junshan said that ceramics occupy a special position in the history of Sino-Western exchanges and Sino-Australian exchanges. No other form of Chinese art has represented this exchange as comprehensively and for as long as ceramics. As a scholar, I hope that my students, colleagues, and the general public, especially artists and ceramic artists, will have the opportunity to learn about the history and culture reflected in ceramics through the exhibition. I also hope that this exhibition will attract more Australians to Jiangxi.

The exhibition displays 50 ceramic cultural relics plates and 15 sets of contemporary ceramic antique innovative works, showing the profound cultural heritage of Chinese ceramics, exquisite production technology, and the craftsman spirit of continuous inheritance and development in the form of graphics, texts, objects and tea art performances. At the opening ceremony, Wu Shuangling, a non-genetic person of Jizhou tea in Jiangxi Province, performed a superb Luling Song Dynasty tea nineteen-style tea, which attracted praise from the audience.
