The benevolence of the unity of heaven and earth and all things is an important proposition of Yangming Xinxue. He wrote in the article "The Treatise on the Origin of the Origins of the Buddha": "The heart of the husband and the saint regards all things in heaven and earth as one, and he regards all the people in the world, whether they are far or near outside or inside, and all flesh and blood are the relatives of his disciples and children, and they do not want to be safe and nurtured, so as to fulfill their idea of the unity of all things." The hearts of the people in the world are not different from the saints at the beginning, especially in the selfishness of selfishness, separated by the cover of material desires, the big ones are small, the common ones are plugged, everyone has their own hearts, and some regard their fathers, sons and brothers as enemies. The saint is worried about it, so as to teach the world by pushing the benevolence of the unity of heaven and earth and all things, so that all of them can refrain from their selfishness, remove their covering, and restore the sameness of their hearts and bodies. This passage clearly expounds Mr. Yang Ming's idea of "the benevolence of the unity of heaven and earth and all things".

In Mr. Yang Ming's view, all things in heaven and earth are one with human nature, and human beings, as the most conscious and enlightened beings among living beings, are also the hearts of heaven and earth. Therefore, the heart of a saint, that is, the heart that is fully awakened and blinded by selfless desires, regards all things as one and regards the world as one. The hearts of ordinary people are no different from the hearts of saints, but because they are hindered by selfishness and blinded by material desires, the heart of magnanimity becomes a humble heart, and the heart of understanding is blocked, so that they regard fathers, sons, and brothers as enemies. Concerned about this, the saints popularized the idea of the unity of heaven and earth and all things, and educated the people of the world so that they could overcome their selfish desires, remove the blindness of their hearts, and restore their original unity of mind and body.
