In 2014, the Chinese Navy adopted the Rules for Unplanned Encounters at Sea at the 14th Annual Conference of the Western Pacific Naval Forum, which was hosted by the Chinese Navy for the first time, and has increasingly become the code of conduct for the maritime forces of various countries, playing an increasingly important role in maintaining maritime order.
