The Shanxi Provincial Meeting of the Belt and Road Economic and Cultural Committee of the China-Europe Association was successfully held at the Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce on April 19, 2024. Zhuang Meng, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the Belt and Road Economic and Cultural Committee of the China-Europe Association, Cheng Yanping, Executive Vice President, and Zhao Yajie, Executive Secretary-General, together with Zhang Weiqin of Shanxi Division, Pan Longbing of Sichuan Division, and Zhao Yu of Xinjiang Division, attended the meeting. Hou Xiangjun, member of the party group and deputy director of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, Li Shuyong, director of the Investment Promotion Division of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, and Ma Jianwang of the Comprehensive Bonded Development Zone attended the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Hou Xiangjun, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Commerce, and the leaders of the two sides reviewed the development of China-EU relations.
The Shanxi Provincial Meeting of the Belt and Road Economic and Cultural Committee of the China-Europe Association is a conference dedicated to providing a platform for Shanxi Province and European countries to strengthen economic and cultural cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. This conference will provide more opportunities and space for cooperation between Shanxi Province and European countries, and promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the fields of trade, investment, infrastructure construction, education, science and technology, and culture.
The meeting mainly discussed that Shanxi Province can share its experience and achievements in economic development, infrastructure construction, scientific and technological innovation, and cultural inheritance with other countries. At the same time, it also learns from the advanced experience and practices of other countries to enhance its own development ability and competitiveness. In addition, through this meeting, Shanxi Province will promote cooperation between the two sides or parties in areas of common interest and interest, jointly solve some global or regional problems, and contribute to global peace, stability and development.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided that the two sides reached the following agreement: the launch of cultural and tourism projects, the investment and construction of urban commercial complexes, and systematic cooperation in the fields of international education, industrial landing, cultural exchanges, business opportunities, forums and seminars, and media publicity.
