One thing to say, this small city is a true god. When I got here, I learned that Anqing was not only the former provincial capital of Anhui, but also the moment when Anhui Province appeared for the first time in Chinese history in the sixth year of Kangxi, and the name of Anhui was named after Anqing and Huizhou.

This meatball shop is the first small shop I chose after I arrived in Anqing, and it has been open for more than 30 years.
There was a small episode before I came here, when I took a taxi to Beizheng Street, there were two meat ball shops, both of which were big signboards with white characters on a red background, which was really a bit silly for me, a foreigner, so I had to ask the driver which one he usually eats more. After that, the master directly gave me this "first one", saying that this house has been open for a long time. Then we must listen to the persuasion when we go out, and immediately chose the same style as the master.
The restaurant's signature is pork liver ball soup, and if you add 2 pieces, you can add more vermicelli. The meatballs are hand-kneaded, relatively soft, and slippery to eat, and the pork liver is also tender and has no fishy smell.
And the soup is also relatively refreshing, with some green leafy vegetables to drink not greasy at all, I heard that there are also many local friends after drinking wine are also willing to come to a bowl, both warm the stomach and hangover.
In addition to the meatball soup, I also ordered a bowl of beef fried noodles, and I guess the locals will praise me for eating it!
The beef in the noodles is not tender, but smoked, which makes it more chewy and flavorful.

The same "Da Nanmen Beef Bun" in "A Bite of China" is also one of the food landmarks in Anqing. This steamed bun shop has been open for decades and has been passed down for generations, and it is a well-known local steamed bun shop.
To buy beef buns at her house, you have to pay first and then change to a small card with words printed on it, and the buns are 1.5 yuan per piece, which is also considered to be good quality and cheap. ps. Small cards can replace queuing, if you are in a hurry to buy food, the meal card will be lined up first, and when you come back from shopping for groceries, the buns will be loaded and can be taken home directly.
The Great South Gate beef bun is also a fried bun. The skin is fluffy but tough, and the outermost layer is fried until it is a little crispy, and the filling is made up of beef and tofu, which is not like a whole meatball, but it tastes more juicy. Another bowl of mung bean ball soup can support the fullness of the day.

I've already eaten beef fried noodles before, so this time I ordered the most basic green vegetable fried noodles.
About five or six minutes after sitting down, the fried noodles were served, and the color was also attractive, and the aroma roared into the nose.
In the mouth, the noodles are soft and glutinous, and each one is coated in sauce. Paired with crispy greens and bean sprouts, the texture becomes richer.
This noodle only costs six yuan, and you can reap a large bowl of happiness. It's no wonder that many Anqing locals choose to eat a bowl of fried noodles every morning, which is full of vitality all day!

The store sells a variety of chicken legs, wing roots, chicken fillets, and chicken bones...... Compared to Korean-style fried chicken with dipping sauce, I feel that this old-fashioned fried chicken with flour is more to my liking.
I bought two chicken drumsticks and spent 12 bucks. But the only regret is that the chicken thighs are not freshly fried, and after choosing, the boss will put them in the microwave to heat them up for a while.
Fortunately, the short heating did not affect its crispy exterior, and the chicken inside was also tender and tender to the naked eye. Personally, I feel that if you are passing by, you can buy two to taste, but you don't need to go here to buy it~

Unexpectedly, the first time I came to Anqing, I was hooked by the local small restaurant. This sister restaurant is really delicious!
Although the door is inconspicuous and the environment is simple, and even the kitchen has been moved outside the store, it does not affect its deliciousness at all, but adds more fireworks.
This is the same as the Zhuzhou Hunan restaurant I wrote about before, it is also a bright order, and what you want to eat depends on communication.
I asked the hostess to recommend a few dishes, and she quickly named several varieties of chickens, ducks, fish, and frogs, and when asked which dish was ordered more frequently, she immediately proudly said that each dish was more than that......
So I had to come as I liked, because I was only one person, so I served meat and vegetables with 2 dishes, and ordered a field frog and a water spinach. As for the method, it's all spicy stir-fry!
Because the kitchen has been moved outside the store, the process of chopping, preparing, and stir-frying vegetables is all done under my watch. I have to say that it feels quite good to be Party A :)
As soon as the fried frog was brought to the table, the ruddy color immediately fascinated me. The proprietress said that the field frogs are all home-raised, although they are smaller than bullfrogs, but the meat quality is more delicate than that of bullfrogs, so the price is also a lot more expensive. A pound costs more than 30 yuan, while a bullfrog only costs a dozen yuan a pound.
The spicy notes of red pepper and garlic are intertwined, and the spicy aroma is particularly attractive. Just smelling it was already appetizing! After entering it, my eyes lit up!
The meat is firm and delicious, and the tenderness has risen several times compared to the meat quality of bullfrogs. And this spicy is not a pure spicy that makes people scream, but a spicy with a rich aftertaste. After eating this dish, I understand what it means to be unstoppable.

Of course, the water spinach itself is also very fresh, and it feels refreshing when it is placed in the refrigerator. After the entrance, it is crispy and tender, and it can also relieve the irritation after eating the field frog, which is full of pot gas.
And many of them are locals who eat at this house, and some people even finish eating the day before and come to pack the next day. It seems that the taste of the locals in Anqing and I have reached an agreement~
Kawonka

When you come to Anhui, how can you not drink a cup of Kawonka. For the locals, the complex for Kawonka is no less than that of Changsha people.
Because it was my first time drinking Kawonka, I ordered his signature "full set of milk tea". 16 pieces/cup, you can have a cup of milk tea full of brown sugar pudding, coconut fruit, and black rice. It is not an exaggeration to round it up to say that it is a bowl of dessert.
After entering the mouth, the milk tea is very silky, the sweetness is moderate, and you won't feel tired after drinking a whole cup, which is still very good.
But in my opinion, the most praiseworthy thing is the service staff in Kawonka, the attitude is really good. The greeting is simple, but approachable, like a friend, not that mechanical welcome.
And I observed that there were a lot of elderly people sitting in the Kawonka rest area of the Yaohan store, and they didn't actually order, but the clerk didn't treat them differently, and if the elderly wanted a cup of hot water, the clerk would also bring it to them. The appearance of this scene suddenly made me feel that the world is really beautiful~
Mugi Xiangxiang

Mai Longxiang, like Kawangka, is also a characteristic of Anhui. They were all pastries. There are many branches in Anqing, and the most famous should be the Sipai Street store, because it is on the side of the upside-down Lion Pedestrian Street, so there are more tourists who go to buy.
I went to this one and bought it on the way to the sister restaurant, right on Yingbin West Road. At night, the plaque at the door is particularly bright. Of course, what attracted me the most was the big words that followed by Mai Longxiang: "Amazing mung bean cake".
Since they are all so conspicuous, the mung bean cake must be served. In addition, I also picked two flavors of the store's other signature chicken cake, which are red bean flavor and cranberry flavor. Most of the pastries here are weighed by the pound, so you can tell the staff directly to ask for a few pieces, and if you want to give them away, there is also a packaged "hardcover version" that you can take as a souvenir.
I have to say that Mai Longxiang's mung bean cake is indeed remarkable, the entrance is dense, sweet but not greasy, and the bean flavor is also very strong.
At first, it is still lumpy and soft, but it quickly turns into a fine liquid, and it is just right soft. The aroma of beans and sesame seeds reverberates between the mouth and nose, and it is really perfect if it is accompanied by a pot of black tea.
Maybe the mung bean cake gives me too amazing feeling, and the chicken cake is slightly inferior in comparison. It's a bit like the old-fashioned cake we used to eat when we were kids, but it's softer and fluffy.
However, for me, the oiliness is a bit too much, and even my fingers become shiny after eating one, and the packaging box has become much more slippery. But each flower has its own eyes, it can become one of the store signs, and there must be many people who are good at it. So you still have to taste it yourself to come to the best conclusion~
