Yesterday, after I went out with a 7-day and 6-night travel guide in Shanxi, a friend left a message in the comment area, hoping that I would talk about my car rental experience. I really didn't expect that everyone's needs are varied, and even this one is included.
You can place an order directly online, I generally choose Ctrip APP or AutoNavi Map APP, and other platforms must also have it, so I won't say much.
Below, based on my own experience, I will talk about the four elements that need to be paid attention to when renting a car, which are price comparison, model, route and battery life, and I will explain them one by one.
(1) Price comparison
We have to compare prices not only between different platforms, but also between different cities. For example, if you rent the same car, sometimes the price of the Ctrip app will be cheaper, and sometimes the price of AutoNavi will be cheaper, but the rented car is almost the same.
Because of each platform, there will be some preferential policies every once in a while, but we tourists don't know. But we don't need to know so much, we just need to choose the cheaper one among the same cars.
In addition to price comparison between platforms, it is also necessary to compare prices between different cities. For example, if you also use AutoNavi to rent a car in Jinnan, Yuncheng is cheaper than Jincheng. So if I go to the southwest, of course, I will give priority to renting a car from Yuncheng, and if I go to the southeast, I will consider the car rental prices in Taiyuan/Zhengzhou and other cities, because the prices there may be cheaper.
(2) Vehicle model
After talking about the price comparison, let's talk about the model.
Generally speaking, the car model is larger, there are more people, or the car is more luxurious and comfortable, it will be relatively expensive. Most of our tourists, most likely from the economy of the car, choose a suitable one.
My personal principle of choosing a car is: which one is the most proficient in driving and the most in contact with usually, I will choose which. This saves time to get started. And, whether I'm skilled or not, I'll get used to it for a while after I get my hands on it.
Once you're familiar with its performance, you can gradually accelerate it to save time on the go.
(3) Routes
After talking about the model, it's time to talk about the route.
After we rented the car, of course, we had to return it. If you return the car in a different place, the price will be more expensive than returning the car in the same city. So personally, I usually design a circular self-driving map. If I start from Yuncheng, of course, I will also return the car from Yuncheng, so that I can save about half of the cost.
(4) Endurance
Finally, let's think about battery life again.
Generally speaking, when the car rental company delivers the car, it will give a car with full gas, and if you also fill up the car before returning the car, you don't have to make up the difference.
Here is a little trick, if you fill up the fuel within 5 kilometers near the return point, and then drive over to return the car, your fuel tank shows that it is still full, you can avoid the process of making up the difference, this is the skill taught to me by the car rental company.
If the car gives you half fuel and you return it with half gas, then you have to pay the car rental company half a tank of fuel, if the car gives you half gas and you return it with half a tank of fuel, then it is their turn to give you half a tank of fuel money.
When driving, we have to preliminarily determine the endurance of our car according to the odometer on the car. If the tank is large, you can add it once every two or three days, and if the tank is small, you may have to add it once a day or two.
All in all, you must pay more attention to the remaining amount of oil, if the amount of oil falls below 1/3, you must start paying attention to the nearby gas station, which is called being prepared, don't use up the oil and then worry.
