Walking into the Jiangbei Reservoir located in Jiangbei Village, Jiangling Town, Tongchuan District, I saw that on-site workers were carrying out inner slope improvement and water discharge facilities in the reservoir, and speeding up the implementation of the risk removal and reinforcement of the sick and dangerous reservoir.
Similarly, in the Zhutei River Reservoir, located in Chongtian Village, Mengshuang Township, Tongchuan District, workers are dismantling the hexagonal blocks and frame beams on the outer slope of the reservoir, and leveling the approach road.
Comprehensively promoting the removal and reinforcement of sick and dangerous reservoirs not only eliminates potential safety hazards in a timely manner, but also helps to give full play to the important role of reservoirs in flood prevention and disaster reduction, water supply guarantee and agricultural irrigation while ensuring safe and long-term operation. It is understood that the Jiangbei and Zhutei River reservoir risk removal and reinforcement project in Tongchuan District began on November 20, 2023, with a total investment of 6.9996 million yuan and a construction period of 6 months, of which Jiangbei Reservoir is a small first-type reservoir and Zhutihe River Reservoir is a small second-type reservoir, and 30% of the total project volume has been completed so far.
The "small" reservoir moistens the "large" people's livelihood, promotes water conservancy, benefits the people's livelihood, and promotes revitalization. In recent years, Tongchuan District has continued to increase the investigation and rectification of sick and dangerous reservoirs in its jurisdiction, made every effort to promote the implementation of the risk removal and reinforcement project of sick and dangerous reservoirs, comprehensively improved the reservoir's agricultural irrigation, flood prevention and disaster resistance capabilities, and made every effort to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the downstream people, so that the reservoir can continue to play a good social and economic benefit, and promote the high-quality social and economic development of the whole district.
