In order to fully implement the "Three-Year Action Plan for Deepening the Work of Trade Unions for Workers in New Employment Forms (2023-2025)" and the requirements of the Provincial Federation and the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions for Truck Drivers, on April 17, the Shilin County Federation of Trade Unions held the establishment ceremony of the Shilin County Federation of Truck Drivers Industry Trade Union and the awarding ceremony for the establishment of new employment groups. Zhao Zhenhong, executive vice chairman of the Shilin County Federation of Trade Unions, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech, and Kunming Maotian Transportation Co., Ltd., Shilin County Songxia Machinery and Equipment Leasing Co., Ltd., representatives of truck drivers in the county and representatives of relevant new employment groups attended the joining ceremony.
In accordance with the relevant requirements of the Trade Union Law of the People's Republic of China, the Articles of Association of Trade Unions of China and the Regulations on the Election of Trade Unions, the General Assembly adopted a secret ballot and voted by all members to elect the members of the first trade union committee, the fund review committee, the female employee committee and the chairman of the trade union of Shilin County Truck Driver Industry Trade Union, the trade union committee of Shilin County Songxia Machinery and Equipment Leasing Co., Ltd. and the joint trade union committee of Kunming Maotian Transportation Co., Ltd.
At the initiation ceremony, Zhao Zhenhong introduced the significance of joining the trade union organization to the truck drivers, preached the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Trade Unions, interpreted the services and rights enjoyed by the trade union organizations in terms of rights protection and assistance, learning and training, skill competitions, rights and interests protection, mutual assistance, psychological counseling, legal consultation, and mutual medical assistance for employees, and had a cordial conversation with them to learn more about their needs, expectations, worries and living conditions. She said that all along, the party and the state have attached great importance to caring for workers in new forms of employment represented by truck drivers and couriers, and promoted the establishment and improvement of mechanisms to protect the rights and interests of workers in new forms of employment. As a bridge and link between the party and the masses of workers, trade union organizations play an irreplaceable role in safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of workers. Organizing truck drivers to join the union collectively and launching a series of warm "new" activities are specific actions to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions, demonstrating Shilin County's concern for workers in new forms of employment. The majority of new employment workers, including truck drivers, work day and night, to serve enterprises and the masses, and have made important contributions to the county's economic and social development and people's livelihood security. The county federation of trade unions will further intensify its work, wholeheartedly provide services and help, and be a good "mother's family" for workers and friends. She hopes that after all drivers join the trade union organization, they will pay attention to the big family of the trade union and build this big family together, truly take the trade union as a strong backing to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, conscientiously fulfill their social responsibilities, reasonably express their demands and opinions, actively participate in various activities organized by the trade union, and jointly build a dynamic and warm home for workers.
"Today we joined the trade union, become a trade union member, have a sense of belonging, feel really good, and in the future we also have our own 'mother's family', if there are any difficulties, what are the demands, you can ask the union for help as soon as possible. In the future, we will drive safely and civilly in our respective positions, and contribute to the development of Stone Forest transportation. Truck driver Xu Liang said excitedly.
At the initiation ceremony, the participating leaders distributed the founding gift package and emergency rescue kit to the new members, extended greetings to the freight drivers who are fighting on the front line, and told them to strengthen self-protection in outdoor work, pay attention to the combination of work and rest, and drive safely. At the same time, the emergency knowledge publicity was carried out to the participants, which effectively improved the overall first aid level and emergency response ability of the new business and new employment groups, and further understood the knowledge and methods of emergency response to various emergencies and accidents. Subsequently, the newly established truck drivers and other new employment groups were held to establish a union awarding ceremony.
Up to now, the county has joined the trade union organization of more than 260 truck drivers, including enterprise management of truck drivers (Shilin County Songxia Machinery and Equipment Leasing Co., Ltd., Kunming Maotian Transportation Co., Ltd., Shilin Fengzhi Freight Co., Ltd., Shilin Changda Freight Co., Ltd., etc.) in the form of joint trade union committees and trade union committees to set up a separate trade union organization, the rest of the truck drivers without enterprise ownership to join the trade union in the form of Shilin County truck driver industry trade union federation.
In the next step, the Shilin County Federation of Trade Unions will take this membership service activity as an opportunity to promote the coverage of new employment forms of workers such as truck drivers, enhance service capabilities, earnestly perform their duties, and actively promote the trade union's inclusive service for employees among new business enterprises and employees, and include eligible new business enterprises and workers into the trade union difficulty assistance, golden autumn student assistance, medical mutual assistance, employment services and warmth, coolness, health and other caring activities, and strive to achieve full coverage of their organizations. Care is fully covered, so that the workers and the "mother's family" are getting closer and closer.
