At about 17:30 on April 20, the Xuefu Special Service Station of the Jinshan District Fire and Rescue Detachment received a report that a boy in the emergency room of Jinshan Hospital had a toy gun stuck in his finger.
After the firefighters arrived at the scene, they carefully observed that a 3-year-old boy's right index finger was stuck in the bomb port of the toy gun, and because the finger was in a state of compression for nearly half an hour, the blood circulation in the fingertip area was not smooth, and the phenomenon of swelling and whiteness appeared. The boy was in unbearable pain, wailing and crying, and his parents were anxious.
Considering that the toy is made of plastic, the thickness is thin, and the gap between the bomb throwing port of the gun body is narrow, blind demolition is easy to cause secondary damage. While calming the boy's emotions, fire and rescue personnel used small demolition tools such as vices and electric grinders to break down the toy gun.
After nearly 15 minutes of treatment, the boy's fingers were successfully "relieved" and handed over to the on-site medical staff for further care of the injury.
According to the boy's parents, the child inserted his finger into the bomb port while playing with the toy gun, and then could not remove it.
The fire department reminds parents that while toys bring happiness to children, there are also some safety hazards. Be sure to do a good job of safety supervision of children every day, strengthen safety knowledge education, do not put body parts into narrow spaces, and beware of accidents. Once such a limb is stuck, do not pull hard when rescuing, so as not to cause secondary injury.
