Maserati has launched its third electric model, the GranCabrio Folgore. Equipped with an 818-horsepower three-motor electric powertrain. The GranCabrio Folgore is expected to launch in 2025, making it a heart-to-heart for the GranTurismo Folgore coupe.
This is the most expensive electric model ever made by the Stellantis subsidiary: in the US, the base price is $203,000, while UK buyers have to pay more than £185,610. The Italian company's electrification offensive, branded with the Maserati Folgore (Italian for "lightning"), is slowly picking up pace. The first two all-electric models, the GranTurismo Folgore and Grecale Folgore, have been available in several EU countries since the end of January. Following the electric convertible branch, the MC20 Folgore will be launched next year. - Similar to the coupe, the GranCabrio Folgore features the brand's 800-volt architecture and uniquely shaped battery pack, unlike the flatbed design typical of electric vehicles. Instead, it features a T-pack designed to fit within the gearbox and drivetrain channels, ensuring a lower seat height compared to EVs with traditional layouts.
- Inside the electric GranCabrio, occupants can enjoy a luxurious atmosphere with eco-friendly materials and cutting-edge technological features. The soft top can be folded quickly, saving luggage space by compactly stowed away. While the front seats provide plenty of space, the rear seats, while capable of accommodating adults, may not offer maximum comfort.
- The standard upholstery includes a silk material made from Econyl, a recycled nylon synthetic fiber, with laser-etched perforations for a visually striking design. For those driving at dusk, Maserati has a neck heater installed on the front seats to protect against the cold.
- A 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and independent touch-controlled climate features are standard, along with a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (both wireless), a head-up display, and a 16-speaker Sonus Faber sound system; A 19-speaker Sonus Faber stereo is optional.
