More than just a concept: Nauta designs the XP75 expedition yacht

author:Boat Harbor

"This is undoubtedly my dream motor yacht!", says Martino Majno of Nauta Design Studio, project manager for the studio's striking new expedition yacht project.

At 75 meters long and 12.8 meters wide, the XP75 far exceeds any other expedition Nauta has designed to date. Inspired by a client brief, the design features Azure Naval Architects' state-of-the-art seacraft engineering and is accompanied by a 200-page specification document. It's not just a concept, it's ready to go from blueprint to reality. What she was waiting for was only that decisive beginning.

flexibility

Majno continues, "When designing the XP75, we were looking for flexibility at the core. The yacht is built for extreme ice conditions between minus 20 and 40 degrees Celsius, providing passengers with the same level of comfort whether in the icy waters of the Arctic or in the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea. ”

In order to achieve this, we have invested a lot of research efforts to ensure efficient operation while reducing fuel consumption as much as possible. For example, special double-glazing reduces heat transfer and engine cooling water can be recycled.

The design of the technical space is even more ingenious, as it can support diesel-electric hybrid propulsion and provide ample space for methanol tanks. This design is designed to reduce the yacht's environmental impact, conserve valuable fuel resources and further enhance its range. The design of the XP75 is constantly being explored and innovated to bring passengers a better sailing experience.

Less is more

Nauta's design philosophy is unique, combining masculine lines with signature elegance. The exterior is clean and rugged, while the slanted edges and slightly sloping windows give a different touch. Believing in the credo of "less is more", they are committed to streamlining and perfecting every line, avoiding redundant details and making the overall shape more fluid and harmonious.

When it comes to enhancing the aesthetics of yachts, Nauta Design takes an innovative approach. The Z-shaped sleek panel is strategically placed in the middle of the boat, maintaining balance between the end and the end, while also making the upper deck appear to float above the water. The darkly painted bridge and sun deck reduce the overall height, giving the 1900 GT a low and elegant stance on the water.

The interior layout of the yacht is equally outstanding, based on an experienced design concept that ensures the luxurious comfort of 12 guests and the practicality and convenience of a 24-person crew. The lower deck has been designed with the yacht's autonomous mission in mind, with a separate walk-in fridge for meat, fish and vegetables, as well as a dry cargo storage area, a large laundry room and duvet storage to meet every need.

Lower deck

The lower deck front is dedicated to the galley, crew dining room and accommodation. There are two side platforms: one for the starboard side of the guest and one for the port side of the crew. Considering the efficient service, the port hatch is next to the refrigerated garbage room and the galley.

There is also a 150 square meter garage on the lower aft deck of the double engine room, with shell doors on both sides, which can accommodate three tender boats, including a 9.5 luxury coupe tender tender, as well as a mini submarine and a variety of water toys.

At the stern of the boat is the "Ocean Lounge Area" or beach club with sauna, beauty center and Turkish bath. Three folding terraces increase the total area to 185 square meters, providing guests with more space to relax. There is a sunken bar below the pool on the main deck, which will be a place to gather and talk, allowing people to savor the beauty of life in the sea breeze.

Main deck

The pool is located on the main deck and has a base that can be raised, so that the 273 square meters of aft deck can be used as a helipad. This is another innovative element of the XP75 design. Further along, you'll find a hidden sunroof sanctuary (which retracts when the deck is used for helicopter operations) hidden below deck, with sunken seating areas, a bar, DJ consoles and an open-air cinema.

All external staircases between the decks are integrated into the superstructure so as not to interrupt the purity of the yacht's silhouette. The main salon and dining room are flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows that maximize the 3-meter ceiling height (the ceiling height in the guest area is also not less than 2.4 meters). The aquarium leaning against the front bulkhead becomes the focal point of attention. There are five guest rooms in front of the main deck. The front VIP suite can also be divided by a sliding panel to create an additional suite to suit different living needs.

Upper deck

The upper deck is reserved for the exclusive use of the owner. The large forward-facing living room with island bed offers stunning 180-degree views, and next to the private side deck and hot tub on the private deck. Thanks to the telescopic mast and covered mooring deck, the foredeck doubles as a ready-to-use helipad when the yacht is moored in warm climates and the main pool is in use. The Skybridge Lounge on the aft upper deck features a second projector and serves as a cinema, while the aft deck is the perfect space for al fresco dining.

Bridge and sundeck

The cab on the bridge deck is designed to maximize visibility and handling in icy conditions. It is equipped with a wrap-around integrated Kongsberg console and a Portuguese bridge (read the next text: What is a Portuguese bridge). The overhanging deckhead design under the bridge clevers the owner's private foredeck and ensures privacy. Overlooking the open-air deck is a glass-walled gym with massage rooms.

The sun deck or observation deck, located on the side of the yacht, although it covers an area of up to 65 square meters, is almost imperceptible from the side thanks to its clever design. There is a unique third swimming pool, with a waterfall that adds a bit of energy and vitality to the pool. Comfortable sun mats and umbrellas are placed around the pool, providing a great place for guests to relax and unwind.

The XP75 is the most advanced yacht ever designed by Nauta Design and is a very exciting product in the superyacht industry, a special blend of luxury, innovation and sustainable initiatives. It's not just a conceptual design, it's a full-fledged and ready-to-build project.
