Chery Automobile invested in the Spanish electric vehicle Omenda model, and the prime minister personally stood on the platform. It's awesome
Chery Automobile and Spanish automotive company Ebro-EV Motors signed an agreement on April 19 local time to establish a joint venture in Barcelona, Spain, to produce new electric vehicles. According to the agreement, Chery Automobile will take the lead in the production of Omenda and other models in the third and fourth quarters of this year, and is expected to produce 50,000 units annually by 2027 and 150,000 units in 2029.
Chery will create 1,250 jobs when it starts production, and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez attended the event at Chery Automobile's Spanish plant.
The main highlights of the 2023 Chery Omenda are as follows:
- Exterior: Featuring an unbounded matrix grille with newly designed T-shaped daytime running lights and LED taillights, the fastback shape and waistline, roof curvature and cut proportions form a perfect Fibonacci gold curve with the wheels, and red sports calipers are the finishing touch.
- Colours: Available in 5 distinctive paint colours, including Sydney Silver, Lime Green, Evening Berry Black, Lotus Mist White, and Fruit Shadow Grey, as well as two different shade interior color schemes, Coconut Grey and Gallon Black.
- Power: Available in 1.5T+9CVT and Kunpeng 1.6T+7DCT dual-power versions. Among them, the 1.6TGDI Kunpeng power + 7-speed wet transmission power combination has a power performance that surpasses its peers.
- Safety: It adopts a new generation of body structure, and the whole system is equipped with 78% ultra-high-strength steel as standard to create a super anti-collision "golden bell cover"; the body adopts a three-way partial collision pressure partial pressure design and a super energy-absorbing design with 4 energy absorption on both sides, which can fully absorb the collision energy at critical moments; it is also equipped with CLT deadbolt and bipolar limiting force device on the seat belt, which can provide users with more thoughtful safety protection in extreme situations.
