At first, he worked as a model and nightclub singer, and in the same year, he was admitted to the 10th TVB artist training class as an actor, and Andy Lau and Leung Ka-fai were classmates at the same time.

Born in Heilongjiang, Xu Jinjiang was born into a medical family, but he was so interested in art that he enrolled at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts under the tutelage of the late Guan Shanyue, a master of Chinese painting of the Lingnan School.
