On the morning of April 19, the 25th "Project-based Learning" Achievement Conference of Baishida Primary School was held at the same time in 26 branch venues on campus. The research teams of 191 projects in 24 classes in six grades of the school released the research results of each group through various forms such as exhibition boards, PPTs, and sitcoms. More than 1,000 parents, teachers from sister schools and people from all walks of life who are concerned about Baishida Primary School entered the branch venues of the campus and participated in this "quiet" results conference.
Focus on hot spots, small topics connect the big world
"Will Sora destroy the jobs of traditional film and television workers?", "How to deal with the impact of artificial intelligence on future careers", "Will autonomous driving gradually replace traditional automobile manufacturing?", ...... At the press conference, some senior students brought research topics that are closely related to the current development of science and technology and synchronized with future trends. They completed their research reports by reviewing a large number of literatures, visiting technology companies, interviewing industry experts, etc., and presented their research results to the audience at the press conference. These studies are not only highly scientific and practical, but also demonstrate children's keen observation and innovative thinking.
In order to conduct in-depth research on the role of technology in transportation, the 404 "Smart Mobility" team visited Huawei's Autonomous Driving Experience Center and interviewed the staff of HarmonyOS Auto Experience Store to learn about autonomous driving and unmanned driving technologies and their future development prospects. The visiting guests and parents who attended the scene were shocked by the children's scientific research ability and spoke highly of the depth of research they had achieved at a young age.
The results are rich and the display forms are diverse
The research results of the 191 project research teams are very rich, including clear and standardized research reports, beautifully produced manuals, eye-catching posters, and sharply worded proposals......
The results of each group were also released in a variety of forms. The exhibition boards of the "Traffic Safety" group of Class 201 are clearly organized and full of design, the PPT of the "Rail Autopilot" group of Class 403 is prominent, logical and full of content, and the Allegro and talk show of the "Fire Warriors" group of Class 203 are interesting and full of creativity. Among them, the sitcom "Princess, Please Don't Be Partial to Food" of the Class 101 "My Body, My Decision" group has attracted much attention. Through a lively and interesting performance, the four students conveyed the importance of healthy eating to the audience. According to their own research themes, students played the roles of small traffic policemen, firefighters, doctors and nurses, and presented their research results confidently and generously through various forms.

The school has carefully designed the sub-venue arrangement of this press conference. There are 7 to 8 project teams in each room, from different classes in more than four grades. Different grades and different topics were released in the same branch venue, which not only broadened the students' horizons, but also enriched the content of the conference.
In the 303 session, the students of the sixth-grade project team told the students earnestly: "Although the research process of each project is full of difficulties and challenges, after going through those days hand in hand with my partners, you will find that project-based learning makes each student a real master of learning." In the 502 class venue, the students of the first-grade project team asked the senior brothers: "What have you gained the most from doing project research for so many years?" The different performances of the lower grades and the upper grades allowed the parents on the scene to see the growth of their children in project-based learning. It is understood that Baishida Primary School has been carrying out project-based learning for 12 and a half years. In this semester's project-based learning, each grade focuses on different themes, such as "life and health" in the first grade, which allows children to understand their own bodies and pay attention to their own health, the second grade focuses on "safety and protection" to cultivate children's safety awareness and self-protection ability, and the third grade focuses on "environment and life" to guide children to pay attention to environmental protection and sustainable development. The theme of the fourth grade is "Science and Technology and Life", focusing on the development of science and technology and cultivating the scientific spirit, the theme of the fifth grade is "Ideal and Career", clarifying their goals and ideals and gaining a preliminary career understanding, and the sixth grade is taking "Growth and Review" as the theme, sorting out and summarizing the process of 11 project research and their own growth in the past six years. These research topics are not only close to the actual life of children, but also constantly expand their life fields, so that their research horizons are broader and richer.
For students, project-based learning is not only a process of discovering, proposing, solving and explaining problems, but also a process of comprehensively improving their comprehensive literacy. In the process of project research, students start from forming a project team, selecting a research topic, formulating a research plan, collecting and sorting out literature, conducting field trips or interviewing experts, making questionnaires for investigation and analysis, and finally completing research reports and project works, and releasing results to classmates, teachers and parents.
