Recently, the Songshan Lake Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, together with the Bureau of Publicity, Education, Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Party Building Work Office, organized a series of activities on the "National Science and Technology Workers Day" in Songshan Lake. On the morning of April 19th, the first event "Time and Space Travel: Understanding 6000 Years of Science and Technology History" kicked off at the headquarters of XbotPark Robotics Base.
The event invited Deng Guojun, honorary president of Dongguan Songshan Lake Family Education Promotion Association, to share the 6,000-year development process of scientific and technological innovation and the development history and innovation achievements of the robot base for more than 30 teachers of history, physics, science, information technology and other disciplines in primary and secondary schools in the park, so as to improve the scientific literacy of scientific and technological workers and teachers, and consolidate the foundation for the development of science education.
Walking into the exhibition hall, Deng Guojun opened with an icon printed on the ground, cleverly introducing the basic qualities and knowledge system that innovative entrepreneurs need to have, and then introduced the entrepreneurial experience of Professor Li Zexiang and his students, Wang Tao, chairman of DJI, and Zhang Junbin, chairman of Cloud Whale Intelligence, etc., to explain in detail the experience of the science and technology innovation camp in talent training, emphasizing that teachers should pay attention to cultivating children's independent thinking and hands-on ability, and hope that teachers can cultivate science and technology seedlings.
As the main initiator of the robot base, Professor Li Zexiang has not only made outstanding achievements in scientific and technological innovation, founded a listed company - Gu Hi-tech, but also is committed to cultivating students' scientific and technological innovation capabilities, and has incubated a number of unicorn/small unicorn technology enterprises. His students constantly challenge themselves and realize their self-worth in the process of learning, competing and starting their own businesses. These stories provided a vivid education case for the teachers on the scene and depicted a vivid blueprint for science and technology education.
In the visit to the exhibition hall of the robot base, the display of the 6,000-year history of scientific and technological innovation and development shocked every teacher present. The display of the chronological form makes the context of scientific and technological development clearly visible, from the stone carvings of four-wheeled vehicles in 4000 BC to the industrial revolution at various stages, there are scientific and technological events related to them in every historical period. This kind of content with pictures and texts not only allows teachers to deeply understand the historical context of the development of science and technology, but also allows them to see the close connection between science and technology, society and history.
Teachers expressed their deep inspiration and hope to integrate these contents into their own courses, so that students can feel the charm and power of technology while learning. At the same time, some teachers expressed their desire to connect with the base, hoping to bring the children to the base and let them feel the changes in science and technology.
This visit and research activity is also a vivid practice of Songshan Lake Park to implement the "Implementation Plan for Promoting Science Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in Dongguan City", which allows scientific and technological workers and teachers to have a deeper understanding of scientific and technological innovation technology, and also provides them with a platform for exchanging ideas and colliding wisdom.
