According to current information, this concept car is a customized model for China, and will focus on intelligent networking to meet the needs of Chinese users.
Previously, Volkswagen Group announced that it and Xpeng will further expand their cooperation to jointly develop CEA, an electronic and electrical architecture based on zone control and quasi-central computing. The architecture was jointly developed by engineers from Xpeng Motors, Volkswagen (China) Technology Co., Ltd. (VCTC) and CARIAD China, a software company owned by the Volkswagen Group.

According to reports, the characteristics of this architecture are that it can reduce the number of vehicle ECUs by about 30%, which is conducive to reducing the complexity of automotive intelligent electronic control systems and further reducing costs. In the future, various functions, including autonomous driving, will be integrated into the vehicle and continuously updated and expanded.
It is reported that from 2026, the new architecture is expected to be applied to the all-electric models of the Volkswagen brand produced locally. The first batch of models will be four all-electric models of the Volkswagen brand based on the CMP platform.
According to public information, CMP (China Main Platform) is a new entry-level pure electric platform developed by Volkswagen Group in response to the needs of Chinese consumers, which is derived from the existing MEB platform and is oriented to pure electric compact entry-level models, with a price range of 14-180,000 yuan. At the same time, the two models of Volkswagen and Xpeng will also be equipped with the CEA architecture, and the two cars will enter the market in 2026, and the first product will be an SUV.
