The 75 years of the People's Republic of China: the rule of law

Red Story Painting - Governing the Country According to Law|Comic Book "Breaking Free from the Feudal Shackles"

On April 13, 1950, the Seventh Meeting of the Committee of the Central People's Government deliberated and passed the Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China (Draft), which came into force on May 1. Throughout the development of the Marriage Law in mainland China, since the implementation of the Marriage Law in 1950, whether it is the Marriage Law in 1980, the amendment to the Marriage Law in 2001, or the Marriage and Family Section of the Civil Code in 2021, equality between men and women has been taken as the basic principle, reflecting the equality between husband and wife, between parents and children, between grandchildren, and between brothers and sisters. The historical evolution of the Marriage Law reflects the transformation of the old and new regimes, and reflects the historical process of reform and opening up.

The comic strip "Breaking Free from the Feudal Shackles" tells the story of a pair of young men and women in the countryside who fell in love freely after the founding of New China, reflecting the changes in society and the progress of people's concepts.
