On the morning of April 17, the 43rd "Love Bird Week" publicity activity sponsored by the Qinling Protection Bureau of Chang'an District, undertaken by the District Forestry Resources Conservation Center and the Youth Street Community of Weiqu Street, was held in Jin Chang'an Square. More than 50 volunteers from the District Forestry Resources Conservation Center and the Youth Street Community of Weiqu Street participated.
At the launching ceremony, the "Bird Loving and Flying Initiative" was read out, and the event site focused on disseminating the concept of bird love and bird protection to the public through popular science exhibition boards, distribution of publicity materials and posters, etc., so as to enhance the public's awareness of ecological protection. On the same day, more than 1,000 copies of more than 10 kinds of publicity materials such as "Bird Watching Handbook", "Xi'an Common Wild Bird Identification Handbook" and "Wildlife Protection Publicity Brochure" were distributed, and the people on the scene signed on the exhibition board of the "Bird Love Week" initiative.
After the launching ceremony, the Chang'an District Forestry Resources Conservation Center will also carry out the activity of "entering the campus and entering the community" to advocate the public to establish the concept of bird protection and strengthen the participation of all sectors of society in bird conservation.
In recent years, the district party committee and the district government attach great importance to the ecological and environmental protection of the Qinling Mountains, with the improvement of the ecosystem, providing a good habitat for wild and rare animals, more and more birds are multiplying, the number of migratory birds and resident bird species has increased, and the national first-class protected wild bird populations such as black storks and golden eagles have settled in Chang'an.
In the next step, the Qinling Protection Bureau of the District should further consolidate its responsibilities, severely crack down on illegal and criminal acts of destroying wild animal and plant resources, increase ecological restoration, and continue to improve the breeding and habitat environment of birds; The "Bird Loving Week" activity is an opportunity to increase publicity and education, guide more public welfare organizations and the masses to participate in bird protection work, and work together to build a beautiful Chang'an with beautiful mountains and rivers, birds and flowers.
