A few days ago, more than 10 elderly residents of Yangtze River No. 2 Village, Dongping Town, spent a warm and fulfilling time at the newly opened elderly care service station at the door of the community. Since its opening at the end of March, the elderly care service station at the doorstep of the Yangtze River No. 2 Village community has been very popular every day, with many activities and laughter.
Covering an area of 150 square meters, the service station is clean and bright, equipped with tables, chairs, sofas, convenience boxes and projection facilities, paintings, green plant decorations, rich functions and warmth.
According to the cadres of the Yangtze River No. 2 Village Neighborhood Committee, this was originally an activity room for the elderly in the community, but due to disrepair and outdated facilities, residents have a high demand for renovation. Last year, on the basis of field research, the relevant departments renovated it as a whole and upgraded its functions.
It is understood that in the future, the elderly care service station at the door will be managed by the cadres of the neighborhood committee in turn, and the volunteers will be responsible for the operation, and will carry out various activities and provide a variety of convenient services from time to time to meet the more diverse needs of residents. In addition, the opening hours and hours of the service stations will be flexibly adjusted according to the needs of residents.
Dongping Town has a population of 11,300 people, with more than 6,000 registered people over 60 years old, and the elderly group accounts for more than half.
